Felt he would save it. Just felt like it would fit perfectly with the story of a team who wins the league.

Incredible game!

Truro lost 3-1 at home to landlords Plymouth Parkway today which helped give Bracknell that 4 point cushion in second place. Obviously be keen to maintain that on Wednesday but would guess it’ll be a big ask for what must be a really knackered squad of players.

Real shame Tiverton couldn’t get at least a point at Weston today to really put the cat amongst the pigeons.

Maidenhead were diabolical today, Torquay really didn't have to get out of 2nd gear. Magpies keeper looks like he has never played football before.

Really impressed with the Torquay support though, travelled in great numbers.

NL Results :

Easter Monday 10th April

NAT
Eastleigh 3-3 Aldershot Town
Maidenhead United 1-3 Torquay United
Woking 1-1 Southend United
Wrexham 3-2 Notts County
Yeovil Town 0-1 Dorking Wanderers
NATN
Banbury United 0-0 Peterborough Sports
Hereford 2-2 Brackley Town att 1,374

Hungerford Town 1-1 Havant & Waterlooville
Oxford City 3-1 Chelmsford City
Taunton Town 2-1 Slough Town
- Champions Ebbsfleet beaten 3-2 at Braintree

SLP-S
Bracknell Town 3-1 Beaconsfield Town - att 403 – goals from Esprit 14’, Abisogun 56’ and Platt 89’ – Pegg for 'Rams' had brought the scores level just before the break.

Dorchester Town 1-6 Poole Town
Gosport Borough 1-0 Hartley Wintney ‘borough’s goal from Abdulai Baggie – defeat to fellow strugglers, more or less confirms Hartley’s relegation – have 2 games to play and are 5 pts adrift of Hendon who have 3 games in hand.

Hayes & Yeading United 0-3 Chesham United
Merthyr Town 1-2 Yate Town – this win hauls the previously bottom club above Hartley and Nor Lye
Metropolitan Police 1-3 Harrow Borough as above this surprise win also sees HB leap closer to the safety line but they only have 2 games left and are three points behind Hendon

North Leigh 1-2 Swindon Supermarine
- was at this for my 2nd game : Nor Lye fought back well from 2 down but having given themselves hope with a decent strike and half an hour left to play, then missed a penalty late on, that might have made for an exciting finish – they needed a win really and no look destined to drop back to STEP04 at the first attempt.
‘marine probably too far adrift of the last PO spot especially with Poole’s huge win at Dorchester

Salisbury 1-2 Winchester City - att 662 at the Ray Mac -two more for Bentley
Truro City 1-3 Plymouth Parkway att 622
Weston-super-Mare 2-1 Tiverton Town
SL1-C

Westfield 0-2 Chertsey Town

CCL-PN
Broadfields United 1-1 Spelthorne Sports
Flackwell Heath 0-0 Windsor
Holyport 3-2 Reading City
- as above my morning choice – certainly had some contrasting weather conditions and the pitch was decidedly ‘gluey’ by the end

Oxhey Jets 0-0 North Greenford United
Wallingford & Crowmarsh 0-5 Ascot United
CCL-PS
Badshot Lea 0-3 Farnham Town - att 376 – minor shock for title chasers but were reduced to 10 men 1st half
Frimley Green 1-3 Tadley Calleva
Redhill 2-1 Horley Town
Sheerwater 1-1 Guildford City
CCL-1
CB Hounslow United 1-2 London Samurai Rovers - – Samurai benefit from results elsewhere to grab top spot
Eversley & California 6-1 Bagshot
Langley

Lydney Town 3-0 Shrivenham

Think Wrexham are pretty much home and hosed now esp. as their game in hand is a visit from Yeovil.

Meanwhile Oldham won 2-0 at Scunthorpe yesterday which condemns Scunthorpe to National League North football next season.

Dorking’s win at Yeovil has also pretty much dumped the Somerset side down into step 2 as well.

Aldershot v Scunthorpe and Torquay v York on Saturday. Torquay’s last game of the season is home to Wrexham (thinking that that might be a decent game to go to, got to be better than the inevitable Wigan win at the SCL anyway).

Finally, with the highly likely skewed relegation out of the National League (3 really southern clubs and 1 northern), I’m thinking that Oxford City might well find themselves shunted into playing Brackley, Banbury, Scunthorpe et al next season.

Bracknell hoping WSM lose one (or draw two) but it does look like a battle for home advantage if it goes to a play-off final.

I wonder what Bracknell would have to do to Sandhurst's ground to get it up to standard. 250 seats, cover for 500, and a capacity of 3000, apparently. That last part is probably the hardest to achieve.

Then, of course, being able to attract enough people to trek to Sandhurst to watch, to stop the club being a total money-pit.

It really was from what I saw
And I couldn't help but think that either of these sides would be more than a match for Reading atm!

 Will it ever get played? Perhaps the league should give the option to switch to another venue as it’s utterly ridiculous to expect sides at this level to go on re-arranging fixtures ad infinitum, certainly think leagues should be able to extend their seasons when adverse weather and various club’s cup successes have meant a lot of postponements. Perhaps also groundshare rules need to be reviewed esp. when a pitch is one prone to waterlogging.

Maybe tomorrow or next Monday with Bracknell’s game at Met Police moved from next Tuesday to Wednesday.

This means Bracknell play the remaining 4 games- Sat, Mon, Thurs, Sat

It does make you wonder why the season couldn't have ended a week or two later.

There is an interesting statement from the combined counties league about the situation. https://footballinberkshire.co.uk/news/ ... statement/
