So Hampden for Scotland
Windsor Park for N. Ireland
and presumably Lansdowne Road in Dublin and maybe Cork GAA’s Pairc Ui Chaoimh stadium. Presume they wouldn’t use Croke Park if Lansdowne Road is on the list as that’d mean both stadiums in Dublin.

It will be Croke Park but needs significant redevelopment.

Given the trouble outside Wembley at the last Euros Final can't imagine UEFA deciding it would be a good thing to have them here again anytime soon.

I think that's pretty low down uefas list of concerns, if it's even on there.

Agreed-will take many years of bridge-building before we get near to being seen as the right sort of place capable of holding a major tournament again.

Anfield's pitch isn't big enough for international European competitions.

What are the pitch dimensions for the Euros then as Anfield is within the sizes demanded of an international pitch:

Dimensions for international matches
Length (touchline): minimum 100m (100yds), maximum 110m (120yds)
Width (goal-line): minimum 64m (70yds), maximum 75m (80yds)

Anfield is approx 110 yards (101m) in length and approx 74 yards (68m) wide

What are the pitch dimensions for the Euros then as Anfield is within the sizes demanded of an international pitch:

Dimensions for international matches
Length (touchline): minimum 100m (100yds), maximum 110m (120yds)
Width (goal-line): minimum 64m (70yds), maximum 75m (80yds)

The size of Anfield’s pitch means it is not a UEFA required stadium, which is the same reason why it’s unable to host Europa League or Champions League finals.

The playing surface at Liverpool’s home stadium is smaller than the fixed dimensions of 105m by 68m that host stadiums must have. Chelsea‘s Stamford Bridge has been ruled out for similar reasons.

Liverpool had the opportunity to address this with their expansion of the Anfield Road End, but that would have required adjustments to the lower tier of the stand, including extensive work to the entry and exit points.

Instead, Liverpool decided the redevelopment work will not impact the lower tier.

As things stand, the length of the Anfield pitch stands at 101m-long, four metres short of UEFA’s regulation size.

https://www.thisisanfield.com/2022/09/why-anfield-wont-be-able-to-host-potential-euro-2028-matches/

The field of play must have the standard dimensions of 105m x 68m and respect the IFAB Laws of the Game.

The area around the field of play up until the perimeter boards (but a minimum of 3m) must be flat and consist of natural grass (or high quality artificial turf).

The overall distance between the field of play and the edge of the spectator seating area must be at least 7.5m (preferably 10m) behind each goal and at least 6m (preferably 8.5m) along the touchlines.

This space is needed in particular for the substitutes’ benches, the camera positions, microphones, photographers and advertising boards. This results in a minimum overall available area of 120m x 80m and a preferred overall area of 125m x 85m.

Fair enough then, so while it could host international friendlies it can't host any games in UEFA, and presumably FIFA (as surely UEFA and FIFA wouldn't be so stupid as to have different standards :D ), related competitions. Be fun if UEFA decided to enforce the same dimensions in their various European cup competitions though.

only 2 bidders:

1. Joint UK&I
2. Turkey

Turkey failed to win the hosting of 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020 & 2024. If anything their chances of hosting 2028 even less than when they applied to host some of those.
