Derby look like an improving side. Next season I suspect will be their time. Warne has em playing some good football. Even with 10 men.
Done well really with the rebuild they have had to go through.

Warne is a class manager at this level, the sort of bloke Reading should be looking to!

Bookies will presumably make the 3 relegated sides plus the three play off failures the favourites with the likes of Derby, Charlton and Portsmouth leading the remainder.

Great manager or not, they should have made the play offs comfortably. That’s a pretty big failure for them

Am kinda glad they didn't. Doesn't sit comfortably that a club can run up massive debt, pay a small fraction of it and then sign players most in L1 could not.

Derby situation is interesting, saw a tweet from a Derby fan saying they've been under the same transfer embargo we have been under and will continue to be next season and despite that they finished just outside the play-offs. Now granted they get higher attendances than most, including us this season and would have had the 75% rule compared to the division's usual 60%.

It does make me a bit more optimistic for next season, especially if Dai decides to push to get us out of L1 ASAP.

Who do we want coming up from the L2 playoffs?

For me Carlisle (or Mansfield if they make it).

Looking forward to going to the Abbey Stadium next season, I haven’t been there for years. Obviously, I would rather we’d stayed up but there are some cracking away trips in League One. I’m planning on going to every game home and away. Also, looking forward to a trip to Fratton Park.

Was last game there when we won league one under McGhee? Late Quinn goal I think having been under the cosh most of the game.

Yeah, I think you’re right. It was the end of February 94 from memory. I remember we didn’t deserve to win but managed to scrape a 1-0. I’d completely forgotten that it was Quinn who scored.

Yeah, I'm really cut up about. Oh well, plenty of other crappy teams left to play.
