Mid Sussex Royal
blythspartan Looking forward to going to the Abbey Stadium next season, I haven’t been there for years. Obviously, I would rather we’d stayed up but there are some cracking away trips in League One. I’m planning on going to every game home and away. Also, looking forward to a trip to Fratton Park.

Was last game there when we won league one under McGhee? Late Quinn goal I think having been under the cosh most of the game.

The last league game at Cambridge was a 2-2 draw in April 2002. The last visit there, in any competition though, was Matt Upson’s scoring full debut in the 3-1 embarrassment in the league cup in September 2002 (and Dave Kitson scored in that one too!).

AthleticoSpizz Do not despair kid… there's always the Papa Johns Trophy

Chill

Great, embarrassing games against Chelsea’s and/or Arsenal’s U21s and the likes of Sutton and Swindon to look forward to!

Mr Angry Carlisle or Salford; two of the few grounds I have yet to visit.

I went to the last time we played Carlisle away 82 midweek 0-0 1 coach about 30 Royals went. Got back 4:30 in the morning went to work at 8. Terrible ground hasn’t changed I won’t go again.

Ascotexgunner Derby look like an improving side. Next season I suspect will be their time. Warne has em playing some good football. Even with 10 men.
Done well really with the rebuild they have had to go through.

Yeah I expect Derby to improve next season. Not sure if they'll get top 2 though as they still have a lot of issues.

CountryRoyal Who do we want coming up from the L2 playoffs?

For me Carlisle (or Mansfield if they make it).

This. We'd probably beat both of them twice. Salford or Stockport would be harder but both are new grounds

Bar my holiday in August I plan to go to every game too in the league. We can win any game next season and enjoy some grounds we've not done for years. Looking forward to a first trip to Sincil Bank

Stockport would have been a new ground but I went the other week. They play decent attacking football, good watch and wouldn’t want to play them.

Been there, only shame they went down is we'd beat them twice. Their ground is non-league standard really

Such a mission to get to. It is a 5.5 hour drive if you stop for 30 minutes on the way. Be leaving at 6.30am at the latest to get up there. For a northern city it's not as big a shithole as one might think. Has a castle and a reasonable little city centre and a few good pubs. The ground itself is very old school but a dump. The traffic there is a nightmare. Not upset if they don't go up.

Would happily take Cole Stockton and Dan Crowley off them though. Decent squad options.

We had three seasons in a row with midweek trips to Carlisle.
3-3, a 2-1 defeat and the 0-0
Racked up some real supporting mileage in those days

Stockport would be good. Went there in 94 to see us all but confirm promotion.

We were under the cosh for most of the game thanks to Stockpirt's tactic of hoofing up to 9ft tall Kevin Francis but Mick Gooding rescued late draw.

Went to Stockport for a midweek game in the mid 1990's; hammered down with rain and we were 4-0 down after 30 mins, ending up losing 5-0. Long drive back to Salisbury that night........

Yes because no good player has ever been relegated.

Hoping Northampton pip Stockport to L2 promotion today. Only for another local ish side and not a 7.5 round trip.

Hopefully as soon as today is over we’ll start getting somewhere with a new manager. This needs sorting urgently so we can get on top of new signings as quickly as possible.

Expect a new manager will take about 3 to 6 weeks.

We've known what division we'd be in for less than a week and whilst we should have been planning for both eventualities there's only so far you can go down the worst case route until it happens.

Thr club, and many prospective managers could probably do with an end of season break and pause to reflect as well.

I'll worry if we're into July and still haven't appointed anyone.

Bowen and Carey et al can pick up a lot of the player related actions whether we have a manager or not.
