URZZZZHoundURZZZZ
So about the same contribution as last weekend then? Must win game against Wigan and he was dreadful. Didn’t look remotely interested
Another poor signing, 3 months here and there doesn’t cut it. Glad we’re shot of him
He’s a weird one. Goals almost got us to the play offs and kept us up last year. Could be unplayable or terrible. Don’t think he could be classed as a poor signing with his record and actually thought he was ok last week in generally poor and negative performance by the team mind you
I think he can be classed as a pretty poor signing overall. One of our major downfalls in recent seasons has been a lack of consistency within the “key” players. The odd good run here and there doesn’t cut it. It’s not good enough.
Let’s see:
- Poor under Gomes
- Injured under Bowen (aside from that “4” game Christmas period)
- Very good for the first 5 months under Paunovic
- Yet ultimately a big reason as to why we didn’t make the playoffs, offered very little post January
- Injured most of last season
- Offered nothing this season
Sure, comparatively to our other “big name” signings, he’s stood out but has he represented value for money? No chance. Maybe on reflection, poor signing is harsh but I’m not particularly enamoured for a 5/6 million signing that was pretty much invisible for 75% of the time he was here (through injury or poor form)

YorkshireRoyal99 Is Joao not our all time top gooalscorer in the Championship? I'm sure I saw that posted about somewhere yesterday. Not that it's a particularly fantastic achievement or anything, but it's still pretty good nonetheless.
I wouldn't say he's largely responsible why we didn't achieve what we could have done, although for £5m, he hasn't been worth that for us. £5m is a reasonable price to pay for a player of his quality, it was the fact that £5m on one player was a lot for us, as a club, to offer and we needed more for that sort of money. Hit fitness record also leaves a lot to be desired. But at his best, £5m is more than worthwhile for him.

Not a oxf*rd chance whilst Dave Kitson exists.

Soccerbase has Kitson on 54 League goals. 2 PL season 1, 10 PL season 2. Where are the other 3 league goals?

Snowflake Royal I've counted. Dave Kitson has scored 44 tier two goals for us.
Transfermarket is ignoring goals scored under a different branding of the same division. Which is absolute horseshit.

Kits scored 62 goals in all competitions, 56 in the league (54 in his first spell, 2 more in his second spell).

genome Kitson would be the highest "Championship" goal scorer if it weren't for those pesky seasons in the Premier League
