Winston Biscuit I wonder if west ham will go easy against Leicester on the last day as they have their European final the next week.

If you were going to choose any fixture for a game on the final day to try and get you out of trouble I reckon west ham at home would be right up there.

You can picture the quotes coming from opposing managers already!! Perfect game for Leicester on so many fronts.

Do think Spurs (H) is as equal an appealing fixture too. They’ve been shambolic since about August time

Have to question the incentive for Spurs to reach the conference league too. Ultimately, a trophy is a trophy and is something they’re badly lacking but not sure they’ll really want West Ham’s sloppy seconds (assuming they win the final)

In saying that, Bournemouth (H) is hardly tough either which is why I think Everton will be the ones staying up, unless Leicester can somehow win tonight

It does look as though Bournemouth are on the beach (aren't they always?) but they have already beaten Everton easily at home in the League and away in the League Cup.

Everton do need to win the game to be certain of staying up as Leicester's GD is much better and there looks to be no Calvert-Lewin again.
A very nervy Sunday for both clubs.

Great game at the Amex considering (or maybe because) it's a dead rubber.

If Brighton did not have europa next season they would be a good bet for top 3.

Agreed - Man City could of done without that intensity last night as only on beers 48 hours before.

Portsmouth v Fulham ?

That game still hurts to this day. Portsmouth did not even attempt to play. Played at around 60% and that was generous. When they did attack they looked quite threatening.

Yeah. A Danny Murphy header ffs.

I still think we could have tried harder to get the big score needed.
Derby were already beaten from the kick off having one of the worst records not only during the Premier League era but forever in the top division.
Only Savage was trying that day, the rest just didn't want to be there..

As said earlier, SC apparently didn't realise a titanic stuffing of Derby would probably save Reading even if Fulham won at Pompey so he didn't seek to really set up that way - Kebe remained an unused sub as I remember. That game is still the easiest game for Reading I've ever seen them play and think they could have racked up a 7 or 8 goal win if they'd really gone for it but at the end of the day it's really all down to the stupid goals that Reading gave away in the closing stages of the games against Fulham.

Odd. But then we may all have irrational hatreds of some club or other.

I couldn't hate Luton due to their connection with the great Eric Morecambe.

Oh, I could; plastic pitch, membership scheme, ban on away fans, odious Tory MP chairman who parrotted Thatcher's attitude to football....

Presuming you also dislike Oldham, QPR (plastic pitches), Reading (membership scheme) and any club with a chairman "cosying up" to whichever of the 2 idiot political parties is in power at any one time.

Think Coventry will win it anyway and Robins will no doubt be touted as the next England manager as soon as Coventry win a game next season.

If Luton win the play off final there is a possibility that they will be denied promotion owing to the severe cr@pness of their ground. It's going to take a minimum of £10m spent on the ground to fix the shortcomings (technically the ground fails just on having insufficient camera positions but there's also the access points and the terrible seating). Making those changes will take several months and are not really worth the effort given the club is moving to a new ground in the next 2/3 seasons (though that new ground site is apparently right in the centre of Luton  ).

The obvious alternatives are ground shares with Watford or that franchise thing up the road but fans and everyone at the club are, as you'd possibly expect, of the "not in a million years mindset". So maybe Coventry will be celebrating whatever the result in the final.

This wouldn't happen in non league I believe as don't the various leagues insist on meeting required ground gradings for promotion in the winter before. Funny the same rules aren't applied in the FL. If that was the case things may have been sorted already and at least there wouldn't be the possibility of a team effectively just making up the numbers in the play offs.

Bit worrying for Tom Lockyer. Went down off the ball on his own. Didn't look too dramatic at the time, almost like he just stumbled , but then he couldn't get up again. Taken off being assessed by medical specialists

All Luton so far, one nil up, Coventry look out of their depth.

Which they are not.

Ok, I’ll call it. Coventry to turn it around.

Had he not been injured, he would've played against Man Utd in the Champions League that season - perhaps "little boy" means mid-to-late-20s Spain.

Hearing it was related to a header shortly before he fell down, knocked him loopy and eventually he fainted.

Incredible for Luton, have to be happy for them.

They give me hope that Reading can turn it around one day. They have seen far darker days than we have and have got back to the top.

Can't say you're not getting your monies worth with the play offs this season! Really feel for sides losing on sudden death penalties and one player being the cause though esp. after 120 minutes in the high temperatures. Much better for the losing side if 2 or 3 miss in the first 5!

Opening away game, Carlisle United, Tuesday 15 August!
