I’ve been watching this club since about 1968 but have come to the conclusion that it no longer knows it’s arse from it’s elbow.
Seems there is no real plan or leadership despite relegation to league 1
Let’s be honest, any reasonably run club would have wanted to get their shit in order as soon as possible if they were planning a quick return to the championship.
The club is now stuck in a rut with an owner who has no interest and continually takes advice from people who have no knowledge of the English game and are only interested in lining their own pockets.

The owner with no interest who has just pumped £6m in to the club.

I worry as well that a club in our position can't really make proper long term plans, per se. If we get a decent player/manager, chances are they'll get snapped up by a bigger club after a year or two. There's just no point in building around a single person in our position.

Can't help but feel the only real long term plan we have is to rely on promoting 2 or 3 youth team players to the senior squad every year and selling a major asset or two to balance the books.

Pretty much the case for just about every club in the EFL.

Yep, and at least if a manager gets snapped up by someone else it means he's done a good job and would've left us in a better position than when he started.

And, through one way or another, has 3 people running the football side of things that have a wealth of knowledge of the English game.

TBF, you can only change the title of your response, it doesn't change the overall thread title.

windermereROYAL But one thing I do know is many are waiting for announcement before renewing, and with only 5 days to go at the cheaper prices the club need to get their collective fingers out.

+1

Actually +2, if we appoint Hunt we won't be renewing.

I just get the vibe that we are a problem/hassle for Dai and he's not got the time to properly invest in the club anymore.

But why put another £6m in then?

Able to write it off as a tax loss?

Even if that’s true, putting £x into something to have a return of £0.y is not sensible.
e.g. Putting in £6m to save £2m in tax means you are £4m DOWN

Necessity. The club is walking a tightrope with the EFL if nothing else. Dai seems to want to operate by his own rules and continually argue the toss. Even when in the wrong.

Thanks for yet another post full of hints of knowing something, but not actually revealing anything of substance, Lower West.
