Pepe the Horseman Looks like Naby Sarr has joined Qatari side almarkhiya.

Meh. Would have been a good player in League 1, but injury prone and was on a long contract for a player his age. Replace well and we're fine, and perhaps it opens the route for Dorsett

Few contenders but probably our most disappointing player of the season. Had a couple of good games towards the end but coincidence or not, he came into the side on a regular basis mid December (whilst we were sitting 8th with 7 clean sheets) and we ended up going four months without another clean sheet (whilst getting relegated of course)

Can excuse a lack of pace but good defenders can adjust to that. He didn’t. For all the criticism Dann got through the season, thought he was a better option than Sarr

I mean, if we have the finances to basically replace wholesale a relegated squad then i'd be happy with that. PInce takes some blame for our performances but our players simply weren't good enough - and we want to start building now for being competitive back in the Championship, not purely just trying to get out of League One. Though, i would like to keep the LGW/Holmes/McIntyre/Yiadom back 4 and see if it can develop.

Not even sure he was that slow. Didn’t see him get rinsed like McIntyre does on occasions

It was the mistakes in the box, dodgy marking and poor passing decisions really.

SCIAG We're not exactly short at centre-back, if there is a position for us to cut costs in then this is it.

But we are short of quality at centre-back.

Not for L1

Pepe the Horseman Looks like Naby Sarr has joined Qatari side almarkhiya.

I imagine we've got some money for him.

I think he looked fine once we moved to playing two centre-backs.

Be nice if we did pull in a small fee for him. Not out of the question

Not unlikely given the reported Ince situation, his length of contract and that he can't have been on a great Championship wage.

To be honest, just not being stuck with someone for years beyond their sell by date is a step forward though.

Can only encourage Mbengue to put pen to paper too.

Got to say the bed wetting amongst our supporters on social media is quite something.

Shouldn't be a surprise, same every close season and with every managerial appointment.

Yes, sorry, brain of Britain here forgot Nesta Guinness-Walker existed!

These are the players that are currently going to be contracted to Reading on 1st July:

  1. Nelson Abbey
  2. Kelvin Abrefa
  3. Jokull Andresson
  4. Femi Azeez
  5. Dean Bouzanis
  6. Andy Carroll
  7. Mamadi Camará
  8. Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan
  9. Ovie Ejaria
  10. Nesta Guinness-Walker
  11. Sam Hutchinson
  12. Tom Holmes
  13. Tom Ince - heavily linked with a cut price (£50k) move to Norwich
  14. Tom McIntyre
  15. Andy Yiadom

Additionally Hoilett (currently also linked with Huddersfield), Meite and Mbengue have all been offered new terms and we're waiting confirmation whether they'll re-sign or not.

There are a shed load of Academy players (below) but current contract details on these are sketchy at best.

u21s:

Coniah Boyce-Clarke - GK - out of contract but has been offered a new 3y deal
Harvey Collins - GK
Jahmari Clarke - FW
John Clarke - DF - out of contract but offered a new deal
Michael Craig - MF
Jeriel Dorsett - DF - out of contract but offered a new deal
Louie Holzman - DF
Kacper Kowalczyk - GK
Ben Purcell - MF
Imari Samuels - DF
Jack Senga-Ngoyi - MF
Michael Stickland - DF

u18s:

Hamid Abdul-Salam - MF
Jordan Addo-Antoine - DF
Boyd Beacroft - DF
Jacob Borgnis - MF - offered pro deal
Princewill Ehibhatiomhan - FW
Blesk Ekpenyong - MF
Ajani Giscombe - MF
Abraham Kanu - DF
Harvey Maunder - FW - offered pro deal
Junior Nkwonta - DF
Tom Norcott - GK
Jeremiah Okine-Peters - FW - offered pro deal
Sam Paul - MF
Matt Rowley - DF
Basil Tuma - MF - offered pro deal
Cayman Vickers - FW - offered pro deal

Some of the u18s will move up to the u21s but not terribly sure which at the moment. There were also the guys trialling at the end of last season, I know Carson has been offered a deal but not sure about Maragh (& Connor?). Also not sure of the names of any new intake to the u18s.

Imari Samuels left for Brighton last season didn't he? On expiry of his contract with us I think?

From Dellor this morning: https://twitter.com/RFCLatest/status/16 ... 5937449984

There are thought to be others with relegation clauses in their contracts alongside Tom Ince and Naby Sarr.

Do we have any idea who these players might be on the list above and also who we are likely to lose via this route (as in good enough to be wanted by another team and actually want to leave)?
