I've heard from several sources now that the #readingfc hierarchy has disappeared without trace and Dai Yongge is looking to sell... which is holding up Wilder's appointment and may even scupper it. Hoping there's a grand masterplan behind it all, but I doubt it.

Okay then...

I can't even say that comes as a surprise really.

If we are looking to sell, I hope there is something concrete on the horizon, although takeovers don't tend to happen in a short space of time so, if true, it could be a long, drawn out process that takes us months to sort out, putting even more difficulty on the rebuild this summer.

Would just balance this with the guy hasn't worked as a "journalist" for about 3 years and even when he did he was really bad at it. He repeatedly made things up for likes on Twitter and is a complete panic merchant.

Really hate this utter confusion, if Mr Dai is looking to sell, or had enough of it all, why did he just stick £6 million quid into the club?

It's believable given recent events. But there is also a more innocent, equally believable set of events that fits.

Dai has never been very involved, and neither has Dayong Pang. A new structure has been set up relying upon Bowen, who is on bereavement leave. Nobody is stepping into the breach in his stead, so to the staff on the ground it looks like everybody is AWOL, so they tell an old journo they used to know. Still reflects badly on the club; no business should rely upon one man. But not as bad as administration incoming etc. Fits in better with the £6m a couple of months ago too.

Enough to log back onto HNA after a couple of weeks to see what was going on I guess.

Helps make the club a more sellable asset? Just an investment that can support certain aspects of the club (like the women's team) which stops certain areas from either needing significant work doing or falling over completely, making it a less attractive proposition for a potential new owner/investor.

The same principle as investing in improving your house, even though you're ultimately looking to sell.

That would be a more logical assessment of the situation. Though, I fail to believe that Bowen would allow his bereavement leave to harm our chances of recruiting Wilder. I was devastated when my dad died suddenly - was off for over a week and was a bit of a mess. But, I still replied to important emails and took a couple of necessary calls. It's more likely that something else is going on with Wilder and that Bowen's absence makes no difference.

Probably explains why being a Reading fan is like watching paint dry.

Posted this yesterday but retracted as it seemed speculative but more convinced having checked numerous online articles/videos.

It appears Dai Yongge has not only gone AWOL from Reading but China, also.

There was a thread posted on here (I believe around 2020?) mentioning his history of money laundering etc and looks as though this has intensified with Chinese officials chasing extradition.

I highly doubt we are anywhere on his lost of priorities at present.

Well if true, then I would politely suggest we are totally and utterly oxf*rd.

I will share a timeline with source links etc later this evening once I'm back on my PC - as far as I could see this has been developing since August 2022.

Hearing he has competition from a consortium of Gervais, Geller, Tarrant and Oddie who want to "do a Wrexham"

He's gone AWOL but just pumped £6m into the club?

Sick of this scaremongering BS from people like you, all over twitter which makes looking up Reading FC news unbearable, happy to be made to look a fool if any of this comes true by saying you're all massively over-reacting.

Can the EFL step in at all? Surely they can't just let an owner abandon a club
