That statement on Darren Moore is eye-opening. Fans, certainly of other clubs looking in, might always naturally back the manager in those situations, but if Moore has genuinely asked for a quadrupling of his salary, it puts his departure in a whole different light. As above, clearly not written by the PR team, but Wednesday and their fans probably better for that.

I think we'd have to know what Moore was on prior to him asking for the salary to be quadrupled tbh. If he was working for very little and achieved his goal of promotion to the Championship you can understand where he is coming from. For all we know there was an existing agreement in place for salary increase off the back of promotion.

Yeah, that's fair actually. Have a friend of a friend of a mid-table Championship manager who is on £500k before bonuses, I guess there is a reasonable chance Moore was on around £100-150k in League One.

Given the mess Sheff Wed were in I reckon he was probably paid far less than we think. It would be nice to know if quadrupling his salary would just have put him on a par with Championship manager salaries.

Would love to see them back in non-league.

Just saw this after I added it to the Rivals thread on the Team board.

Wouldn't she need to manage in a league game first for that to be completely true. Appointment makes total sense for the club as she already works there and has a chance to show she is worth the job full time. Good luck to her.

It is almost as if it was a cynical publicity stunt by Forest Green's shy and retiring Chairman..........

It's not as though they've replaced her with a name either, it's the Southampton B manager. That must be a real kick in the teeth for her. And over 100 applicants for a League Two job? Really?

Do people not know what the word "caretaker" means?

Does anyone else need their intelligence insulting?

You don't need to announce to the world a caretaker manager for a pre-season friendly. See for example, Reading FC.
