Royalist Would Maidenhead really need to move with multiple millions? Could help them do the ground up enough?

What happened to Windsor FC? reported deadline of June 30th to find a ground but no news. It would only be stubbornness on Mr Stotts behalf to bother with it all though!

Windsor and Eton FC aiming for 1000 fans at glorified park football is pretty ambitious for a town that's drifted away from Stag Meadow. Free entry for the season sounds good but then a lot of clubs that that level don't charge.

The 1,000 fans target is just for the 1st game as a celebration of a new beginning. Trying to get a bit of a buzz going.

I’m sure it will be well attended as lots who have drifted away will come back but I’d be astonished if the gate is even half of that.

Biggest gate I’ve attended there was 802 v Egham about 13 years ago on the 1st free entry (for charity) game (one of Stott’s good initiatives). My son was mascot that day which is a nice memory, but for the club it was a gradual decline from that day on, (not forgetting some great days in the midst).

I would say to anyone doubting Windor's aim is look at Farnham Town and what they have done in a very short space of time. It is quite mind boggling what can be achieved if you have the right people in charge of a non-league club.

Also on the question of Maidenhead moving grounds, yes they need to desperately. Their current ground is great and I love it but having a brand new stadium would be such a great thing for the club and community.

You're right - but that's so depressing. For me, the ground is the only thing that makes them interesting. Move to a new-build ground in an out-of-town sports complex and then they're just another club.

This is the most recent image that I have seen of the plans. I know they are trying to keep as faithful as they can to the current stadium, they do want to keep a bit of the old stadiums identity.

There is a hold up at the moment though due to the council. Maidenhead had agreed to buy the land for £460,000 which is obscenely cheap.

The Bracknell Town FC pitch is sitting in the car park at Larges Lane. Take what you need!

Really not that into Windsor making step 7 players pose with shirts like its a big deal. Really hate the current trend of small time clubs bragging about players nobody has ever heard of signing for them. I say that as the manager of a said small time club.

Yes the biggest gates I've seen there with games against Slough didn't reach that many so I can't see it. I get aiming high but unless they are essentially dragging the youth club players there no chance!'

Has that happened?

I haven’t seen any announcements of new players signing for Windsor & Eton yet.

Yeah there have been three or 4 announcements today. I get they are a new club and everything but its all about levels and step 7 just isn't the right level to start doing big player announcements holding shirts. If any bigger clubs in for any of these announced players tomorrow they'll be straight off.

Seen them now.

I tend to agree it’s all a bit OTT although after the lack of communication from the previous regime (old club) it is quite refreshing to see updates for the fans.

(Looks like a very young squad being assembled, judging from the pics!)

Windsor FC, the old new club, groundsharing at Slough town. Not that Windsor FC has told anyone but a tweet out out on Saturday night by the league said so.

I feel for Kevin. He's spent a lot of time, effort and his own money but seeing someone chuck more money down the drain for essentially a unviable club is either a ego trip or just pure denial.

I guess a lot, maybe all, non league clubs are run by people like that but this seems to be just for himself now.

The club who used to ground share at Slough FC - Langley FC are now playing at Uxbridge FC’s ground.

It's not really "out of town" though. It's half a mile from the station.

Saw Badshot Lea 0 Hungerford 2 yesterday. In truth is was more about meeting up with a mate and having a chat, than the football, but Hungerford looked better, especially in the 2nd half, without being dominant.

One of the Hungerford players had a difficult afternoon after taking a shot right in the 'nads. It's fair to say he looked 'uncomfortable' after that.

Badshot Lea played in an unusual combination of claret & blue shirts, and green shorts. Hungerford played in one of those hideous flourescent yellow efforts which I thought had been left in the late 90s, but clearly not.

On the surface I’d have to agree with you because he’s going to inherit very few if any supporters therefore I can only imagine that the American investors are still involved and that cameras are already rolling.

Whatever, for Stott, ground maintenance at Stag Meadow, and all that entails, must have been a huge burden, so a groundshare will remove a lot of the stress and hard work involved.

Unlike most Windsor / Windsor & Eton fans I wish him good luck.

Really good Bunch of Amateurs documentary on Walton and Hersham fc

Never really heard of them, and done no research about them and no idea if they went up (I assume so)

Basingstoke fans do themselves no favours here though....

They never do. In trouble for racist and homophobic behaviour multiple times last season.
