Dirk Gently Do people not know what the word "caretaker" means?

Does anyone else need their intelligence insulting?

You don't need to announce to the world a caretaker manager for a pre-season friendly. See for example, Reading FC.

If she's the first female one - it becomes newsworthy.

And papers don't have to report it

Reading FC have a caretaker manager announced a caretaker manager on 11th April and didn't ever say his tenure had ended - therefore he was in place until the permanent manager took over on 1st July, so no wonder they didn't announce him.

But you announce a caretaker at the start of their term so that there's always someone in charge of the team - whether it's for 13 days or 4 months. Maybe their search for a manager took less time than they initially expected?

But I fail to see the shock or cynicism when a "caretaker" is replaced by a permanent applicant.

A very progressive and innovative club-good luck to her and them.

Agreed.

She lasted 13 days.

It is almost as if it was a cynical publicity stunt by Forest Green's shy and retiring Chairman..........

Caretaker leaves post after short term of well ...er caretaking really. Hardly a story is it?

And to all the little snowflakes out there perhaps a) she wasn't interested in the role full time or b) whoever got the job full time was actually the best applicant.

Julen Lopetegui looking likely to leave Wolves - not been quiet on his frustrations this summer. Gary O'Neill favourite to take over.

Wolves look pretty doomed already at this moment and it could be even worse if their accounts this season reveal another massive loss as they could then be in breach the PL's ffp rules.

PL have painted themselves into a corner by not punishing Everton to date despite being massively in breach, Wolves are rightly being circumspect but if the PL go for them and let Everton off then there will be legal challenges.

Can't blame him in the slightest. They are nailed on for relegation next season imo.

They want a longer term appointment to help them achieve their PL ambition. Let's see how that works out for them.

Perfect topping up the pension scheme from Warnock again then. Go in save them from relegation, get a bones, sign a longer contract and then make sure you don't make it to Christmas. Which of his previous clubs will he end up back at in Feb\Mar, QPR or Middlesbrough.
