I'm enjoying* all the twitter comments saying it must be because of lack of players, even though they just managed to field 2 different XIs in a pre-season friendly 3 days ago.

Is it linked to our situation? Obvs we could field a team but do wonder if we pulled it as just likely to get smashed and not have a manager for the game. Also maybe have players lined up who couldn’t play so little benefit in having the game

See online that it is linked to issues surrounding flights leaving southern Spain.

You may possibly be right though, expect it is a number of factors.

Air traffic controller shortages over France causing flight cancellations. easyJet have cancelled lots of flights due to the issue.

I hope Amos is around for this one. I thought he was certain to sign last week but now it’s gone very quiet.

I note that he did his cruciate ligament in a couple of years back. Do players make a full recovery from this injury now? I was thinking that he might have failed a medical.

I'm planning on going to that. I imagine it will be a youth team (U18s?) that will show up.

Was at Thatcham vs Slough last week: Slough looked a bit more comfortable (as you'd expect, being two divisions higher), but a 2-2 draw was a fair result. Thatcham have Wokingham and Embrook the day before they play the Reading side, so I don't know how much energy the Thatcham team will have.

There's also a game in Weymouth on Saturday for "Reading XI".

As we have only 2 games left - would be good to see the current "1st team" play at least the first 45 mins - one would hope if any triallists do play then it will be ones that will sign or have just signed.

2nd half we can throw in any players that we may still be wanting to look at but we do really need to playing as close as possible to the side that will face Peterborough a week on Saturday now - knowing full well that a few new faces will come in and may even make the starting XI.

Looks again like the club have decided to minus off the Lower West stand for the Swansea game and make it East stand only for home fans.
