AthleticoSpizz Pits me in mind of a Radiohead song.
I thought someone would say that, so no surprises there.

Dave the rave Saw this on the BBC website this morning and thought of this thread.
So, here for your nostalgic pleasure is the link https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/extra/DqkhZA6FP7/around-the-92-in-the-1980s
Almost brought a tear to my eye at the end.
Brief mention of RFC too.

From Despair To Where?Mr OptimistFrom Despair To Where?
Brings back memories of this.
Yeah, and it’s still not finished.
Similar story though. Started building, ran out of money and the site was derelict for a couple of years.

I see they're now looking at the possibility of a(nother) new ground at Kidlington

Sanguine Might have had this. Abandoned, crumbling, but still stunning. Valencia's 80,000-capacity Nou Mestalla is in disrepair, the site having been vacant since money problems halted its building in 2009.

RG30 Anyone looking to attend Bristol Rovers (A) in the season will be interested in this. The owners have decided to knock down the temporary stand behind the goal. Unfortunately they still haven't got planning permission for a new one yet which has severely restricted capacity for the foreseeable. Barnsley only got a 500 allocation for a week Saturday with no disabled tickets. Hopefully it's resolved by the time we visit.

IIRC from our days last playing at their level there was nothing behind one of the goals at a ground used previously for rugby.
I quite liked Eastville, the previous ground to that, which I think was a kind of bowl like Wimbledon's Plough Lane stadium where speedway used to take place.
