It’ll be very interesting to see how many of the 1022 come back on Wednesday!

Surprised they made the target seemed very ambitious to me but congratulations all round. I dont think anyone is expecting that to hold up but if they average 200 or so that's still more than the other club were getting. I wonder what crowds they are getting as they get 6 put past them in Beaconsfield
Are they paying wages? I am not sure how a club with free gates at this level keeps going especially with flood lights and rent to pay etc. It's a level so low that I have no idea how it works whatsoever

Royal Rother It was indeed a very pleasing performance. Took a little while to settle in, briefly they forgot their style, but once one of the players yelled “keep it on the ground” after about 15 mins, everything clicked.
Lots of pace, nice flowing football, hard working - it might be a lower level but it’s nice to enjoy football at Stag Meadow again after 3 or 4 years of pretty uninspiring stuff.

... good to hear - I had a bit of a mixed bag this midweek ....
- started on Mon at Scours La: saw 'City' progress to the next round of the FA Cup (H vs Shaftesbury on the 2nd Sept) with a very comfortable 4-0 romp past Easington Sports from the suburbs of Banbury.
- Tue saw me down the A322 at Knaphill : where the 'Knappers' grappled none too artfully with the Jersey Bulls - hosts finally getting through to a home tie vs Hanwell, with the only goal - an ET winner around the 100' mark. Game was an absolute chance-free slugfest and around 85' every thought they'd been spared further torment when the lights failed!
-a general power cut at the ground. Since a re-replay was probably unwanted/inadvisable - due to the visitors being 'overseas' - they persisted and got the lights back after a fairly short-time. I'd given up by then and had wended my way back home.
- and finally last night (Wed) was a little ways up the M4 at the 1878 Stadium (f.k.a. The Gore) and watched Burnham thrash the hapless Wallingford and Crowmarsh, to top the league early on. Latters' chairman - who I have a passing acquaintance through work, warned me before they weren't very good ..... and he was right there!
Plenty of other action about midweek elsewhere: (brief-ish highlights)
CCL-PN
-astonishing 6-4 win for Chalfont St P. @ Wembley.
- Holyport were thumped 5-1 at Broadfields
-Milton and Wok 'n Emm played out a 1-1 @ The Heights
CCL-PS
- Cobham beaten 0-3 by Farnham who are 4 wins from 4 and go top on GD from Redhill, T&M and Guidlford.
- Fleet Town bt Abbey Rgrs 4-0
- Sheerwater went down by the odd goal in seven to Guildford City.
CCL-1
- Berks Co walloped Woodley 4-1 at Ascot, the 'other' Windsor grabbed a welcome 3 pts- 2-1 H v Bagshot
- Amersham continuing their rather stellar start to life in the CCL, put seven past London Samurai at Spratley's Meadow - ex-Northwood striker, Jake Tabor with a hat-trick and Richard Paquette on target again.
- Holmer G. NOT finding the move south from the S.Mids as much to their liking though, humbled 1-5 at home by Oxhey.
...and possibly result of the night in WESSEX One on Tue - where big bad Marcus Richardson's charges AFC Aldermaston got off the mark with a 2-1 WIN at Frimley Gn - ex-Thatcham - and plenty of others locally - Simeon Weekes on the scoresheet.
Lots more to come....... as it's a B/H w/e - will put up this Fri/Saturday's fixtures shortly and Monday's later on .....
-it is the FA Vase 1st Qualifying Round this w/e with both Reading City (v Clanfield '85) and Woodley United (v AFC Aldermaston - playing @ 15:00 on Sunday) making way for the 'great unwashed' for this Festival weekend .... and de-camping away from Rivermoor/Scours La. temporarily - for their home ties to be played at Mill Lane: Henley Town.
