Jonjo Shelvey reportedly on his way to join Rizespor, based in the north east of Turkey

Stadium right on the edge of the black sea. looks like a reasonable location to play football

Far too hot and no pubs near the ground.

Looking at around 28 degree typically in the summer in Rize, not too bad. Pubs I cannot help you with.

They always say it's the humidity that's the killer - but ok could be worse. If I'm being slightly more charitable I'm sure you'll find an Efes pils somewhere not too far away too.

Forest Green Rovers new stadium is underway - pretty much made out of wood. Still think they are waiting final planning sign off but bore hole work has commenced and actively on site.

They've changed contractors, so it should at least get finished at some point.

Buckingham Group. Also behind the delayed full opening of Fulham's Riverside Stand.

I don't think this has been posted here: Aldershot Town are planning a development of their ground:

Phase 1
  • Replacement of East, West and South Stands and new toilet blocks
  • Refurbishment of the North Stand [where the players' tunnel is] and club building
  • New floodlights
  • Creation of space for future fan zone around stadium entrance
Phase 2
  • New hospitality and community building on the High Street
  • Refurbishment of the Phoenix Lounge
  • Landscaping and public realm works on the High Street
Phase 3
  • Replacement of North Stand
  • Renovation of facilities including hospitality, administrative offices and players accommodation
  • New pitch

Long overdue and looks smart.

When I was reffing I wished they shortened the pitch. It was the biggest in all of the football league. It’s massive.

Think finding the location is the hardest challenge but the actual leisure park which I believe is under redevelopment plans would be an excellent location and right near the current site at Winklebury.

I'm intrigued by the notion of "replacing" the West Stand. It's currently a couple of trees and a hedge, isn't it?

There's a small stand at that end, which sits a couple hundred tops:

I was there on Saturday for their FA Cup match against Lewes. There was no-one sat in that stand, so I do wonder if it's not accessible or is closed for safety reasons.
