Snowflake Royalmorganb So, what are the options for protests and which, if any, will do any good?
Why will Dai pay any attention to half-a-dozen tennis balls on the pitch or half a stand refusing to leave at the end of the match? Surely these things are no more harmful to him that losing 3 points.
Also, how does the logic from the EFL of the club don't have the money to pay the wages therefore let's demand even more money off of them work? Surely we were set up to fail.
Principles of protest:
1) Must not make the club's position worse, i.e. trigger fines, point deductions, games cancelled, negative press coverage of violence/arrests etc.
2) Must be convenient and accessible to the vast majority of fans, for example, happen when they are already congregated at and intending to be at the ground normally.
3) Must be communicated to the fanbase widely through multiple channels in advance, with clear instructions on what is happening
4) Must not alienate players and staff, should be buttressed by clear support of players and staff at games. Show the positive noise we can make, and the negative.
5) Must be a very public loss of face for the owner
6) Must have no expectations of quick, short term success. Protest is a long game.
Ideally should try to know its place and expertise and not make ludicrous claims, demands or pretend it knows how to run a club. Some realism and humility will help spread the message better.
So, banners, chanting, pre-game marches. Sit someone vocal near Dim and Mick's booth and lots of loud but clean messages over their commentary. One of those coordinated displays pre-game like we've done with the hoops around the stadium, but with a different message... or the massive STAR flag. Local and national media. Flood the club with letters of complaint.

Winston Biscuit Brum look to have taken around £4.5M from the sale of Bellingham to Real Madrid and could take another £1.3M if the add ons are triggered by his achievements at Real Madrid
Thats on top of the £25M basic they took in 2020 with possible extra add ons paid too

absolutely none of those suggestions will work. On the pitch. Refuse to move will make national headlines.

morganb If the manager/players are as hacked off with the situation as the fans then perhaps we need to get them on-side.
If they think that even if they win a game and get 3 points that those points are subsequently going to get deducted, perhaps they should just go out and lose a game 99-0 - that would get us some (worldwide) news coverage. Then in the post match interview they can explain the reason for the record-breaking loss... Dai won't be able to sack/punish the whole team.

East Grinstead Royal It really would be good to know what Bowen, Selles and the players would like the supporters to do. Modern footballers are so separate from the supporters, that there is little chance to find out. I wonder if STAR have a route in?

morganb Rumours circulating on Twitter that Mr Dai will be at tomorrow's game - glutton for punishment or unable to read the room?
Perhaps he stuffed his trouser pockets full of readies before leaving China and aims to pay the wages/HMRC in cash?

its not the fans fault that the chairman is in financial shit despite his assertions otherwise.
It's not other clubs in the league's fault that Reading signed 17 players during the Summer that they may have been interested in - including some nice hot young prospects - but didnt do so because Reading outbid them and they couldnt afford them as a result.
A points deduction is to maintain sporting integrity and to stop clubs signging players and denying them from other clubs which they can't actually afford.
Thought you were smarter than the "its not fair that the club i support is breaking rules left right and centre but shouldnt get sanctioned because it only sanctions the fans" crowd.
It's not about the 17 players we signed you thick oxf*rd,they were all on frees or with big sell on's
It's about the fact that the owner was given til the 12th to deposit 1.25 m into an account to cover any future shortfalls.
He will be given until next month to deposit the money or we will have a further 3 points deducted.
Which won't be able to pay and at that point we are nailed on to be in L 2 next season

Winston Biscuit Is there actually any agreed protest today or just individuals doing whatever they want?

They haven't got everything right, but that's a brilliant letter.
