Royal Monkey Was listening to TalkSPORT all yesterday evening and there wasn’t even a mention of Reading being deducted more points and it’s meant to be a sports channel that focuses mainly on Football

1. we are not a big club and people outside of our fanbase are not interested in us, so spending time on us rather than a bigger topic would be silly for a national radio station
2. as much as football fans like to talk about the football community etc I actually don't think fans really care much at all about what happens at other clubs.

Was looking forward to this, am not now

Anyway as said it’s a match day thread so I’ll have a go at what the team will look like

Button
Mbengue Bindon Abbey Mola
Wing Savage
Azeez Knibbs
Kelv Vickers

CBC, Yiadom, Dean, McIntytre, Hutch, Ballard, Elliott

Probably missing someone obvious, seem to have loads of players of about the same quality knocking about. Some may be a bit knackd after internationals. Expect Smith back next week

Agree with the sentiment and that line up pretty much - maybe swap Ballard in for Vickers.

But yeah, not really up for this one now as even a win is worth 0 points.

NathStPaul Who is this Royal Monkey douche?

A douche that spends more time, probably too much time , travelling the country watching Reading games than sat behind a keyboard

Going to be an uncomfortable watch I feel watching players and management trying to focus on the game without knowing what they are thinking.

That didn't really make a lot of sense.

As opposed to normal games where you know what they are thinking?

Mid Sussex Royal Using Wigan as a precedent they’ve been fined -4 x3 so far so I’d imagine any payment of wages delay will be further similar deductions eventually

If we fail to pay wages again, there will be a further investigation, which will probably lead to another 4 points, but that would be back for the independent panel to rule on.

We haven't failed to pay wages. We've failed to pay into a back up account there to be used to pay players if we fail to pay them on time again.

The FL don't just make things up as they go and arbitrarily dish out deductions. There are procedures that have to be gone through.

I understand this but there is a real danger the wages won't be paid on time in the future, the club statement mentioned cashflow issues again.

Last month we had 4 home games and prior to that ST sales, Puscas money (I assume) etc will have helped so no idea what contribution Dai is making, if any.

Yes the EFL will have to go back to the independent commission but based on Wigan we will be docked points if, as seems likely, we are late paying again.

The one positive for finances is that Dai is yet to pay HMRC or staff late on a L1 wage bill. All the issues came on championship bills.

Have to say that in all the build up I've seen, Bolton fans and journos are showing their class. Obviously they want to win today, but showing a lot of sympathy and support for our situation. Unlike Derby fans who are embarrassing themselves a little.

The Bolton story is well known, if the FL had not been so flexible in persistently extending deadlines then what was Bolton Wanderers wouldn't exist any more so they should feel more than a little empathy.

Hope to see Mola do better than an iffy start v Cambridge. Looking forward to seeing Ballard. Surprised Elliott isn't starting, still want to see him in the centre.

Great to have Binden back.

Hopefully Azeez can have a good game.

Still not finding Hutch and Savage very inspiring. But we'll see.

A team capable of winning and a strong bench in my view. Doesn't mean we will win, but we'll definitely be competitive.

Very defensive though with Dean, Mbengue and McIntyre.

Mukairo, Vickers and Elliott attacking options. But we don't have another out and out striker.
