Sutekh Loafer NathStPaul Maidenhead are in deep shit this season. Abysmal last night.
thought they would be safe and dorking would, and oxford city would get smashed
being proven very wrong
Same avery season for Maidenhead, play load of games and they look utterly atrocious then suddenly they get a bit of form and win 3/4 games in a row before returning to another atrocious run. They survive despite being one of the few part time teams at the top Nat Lge level but eventually it'll catch up with them and they'll return to tier 6/step 2.
...popped along to York Rd - STEP01 is usually a bit rich for me and the prices are certainly pretty eye-watering but I don't begrudge handing over my money to local NL clubs. Att was 885.
Not too happy about the astronomical increase in parking-charges in the last couple of years though - will think carefully about where to park on my next visit.
As above 'Magpies' were pretty abject all evening - attacked only sporadically and looked really blunt where it mattered.
Badly missing that bit of 'X-factor' that someone like Josh Kelly used to bring them in recent times ... and Dave Tarpey before that ...... but he's (JK) toddled off to Solihull Moors and DT - in his mid-thirties now - is probably playing out his days at Hungerford.
'Dev' will need to find some magic ingredients from somewhere as this can be a pretty unforgiving division should you find yourself stuck at the wrong end. They have managed to scramble together enough form to just stay clear of grief in the past few seasons but their time may be running out ..... sincerely hope not.
To be fair 'Alty' weren't that much better and won it with a 'top corner' worldy early in the 2nd half, as the home defence dozed at a quickly taken free-kick. They certainly defended well not that Maidenhead carried much goal threat. Some late subs did promise possible reward for the home side but the visitors just dug-deeper and concentrated on keep-ball further up the pitch.
By some accounts Chesterfied the leaders, are quite similar, grinding out close wins but nonetheless doing it fairly consistently.
