I have 2 or 3 podcasts which feel like they are designed for middle aged blokes to hear about the matches and the experience of going, and thats about all I get now

Think that is all you need, tbh.

What podcasts would those be?

Guardian Football Weekly is probs my favourite. Also listen to On The Continent which is a similar vibe (with sometimes the same journalists) but on european football. Some others i forget right now

From Despair To Where? Clutch is quite a common term in American sports broadcasting.

I thought it was just a fairly common word for important/good

Yeah, it's more about coming up with big plays when it really matters. Beckham's free kick against Greece, for example.

Then it can ****** well stay there.

Clutch is to grasp and hold tightly so just what the **** has it got to do with association football unless you're talking about a goalkeeper making a save.

Stuff Amercanisms in football.

And there's me thinking a clutch disengages the engine from the transmission. Kind of the opposite of holding tightly.

It's more "in the nick of time" kind of sense. I use it a fair bit, nothing against "clutch" as a term tbh

Field Tilt is a new one to me though.

A clutch is also a small purse, the kind of thing that Sutekh presumably fans himself with when he has a touch of the vapours upon hearing about this sort of thing

I'm not a massive fan of the term but if you understand what it means, it's perfectly acceptable IMO.

Ben Doak looking very lively for Liverpool. First time I've seen him.

Lively about sums him up. Quite a traditional winger, will run at players, trust his dribble and ball control. Exciting option for Klopp. Different sort of player, but I think he has a higher ceiling than Harvey Elliott.

It's becoming evident that the midfield rebuild at Liverpool has 'worked' - Gravenberch has terrific feet and pace with the ball and already looks perfect alongside Mac Allister and Szobo. Whether they can stay with City is another thing though - a win at Spurs this weekend and they might start to believe.

But the clutch holds the clutch plate securely to the drive plate - it's disengaging it and releasing that grip that allows you to change gear. So the usage is consistent.

'pparently (according to the Guardian) tomorrow's game against Burnley is only the second time (in 27 league games) that Newcastle have played a Saturday 3pm kick-off in 2023, and the first at home.

Was looking forward to watching all the Sunday football in my favourite sports bar in Spain this Sunday and now I will be doing all I can to avoid having to be there.
There is no excuse for a top Premier League game of the weekend to not be on television on a Sunday. We as consumers pay a lot of money for the various sports channels and deserve a lot more for our money.

We do have Spurs Vs Liverpool as the tea time saturday game which is one I am quite looking forward to. But yeah, that 'super sunday' is quite a shocker

First at home ever? Or, presumably, just since SKY wrecked normality and Newcastle got bought by Saudi?

First 3pm Saturday kick-off at home in 2023, and only second league game total.

Sky just trying to make sure they get the best viewer:tv rights cost ratio for the Ryder Cup.

It is ludicrous, the top game of the weekend (Spurs v the 'pool) is on a Saturday at 5.30. Sky have numerous sports channels and not everyone's interested in blokes having a quiet walk round some parkland in dreadful sweaters hitting tiny balls about so why can't they still put the normal 2/3 games on Sunday?
