Snowflake Royal This should tell us our chances are falling to the wrong people. Because we're playing the wrong way.

Knibbs, Azeez and Vickers? Our forward players?

You know what striker is right?

Not exactly what I'd class as falling to the wrong players though, just because they aren't your ideal one. Not every chance is going to fall to Smith, Kelvin E or Ballard and I'd still be expecting our forward players to be chipping in with the goals as well rather than being reliant on a couple of players, again.

I will say one thing, I've loved reading this discussion. Some great analysis and opinions on everything.

Maybe the fact we've not been outplayed in many games is why Selles has kept the formation as it is and is hinting that our problems aren't formation but making the little things that are going against us go our way.

I don't think we have had much luck this season,
and, yes, maybe our strikers are snatching at chances etc.

But, on luck, way, way back I was a TV engineer and used to have lots
of time to sneak a watch at Newport County in training.

Over time I got to know a lot of players.

We had had a season where we played well and were near the promotion
places. Then the next season we started like we were on fire (I thought)
and were picking up loads of 1-0's home and away.

Bumped into Steve Aizlewood, our centre-back and I made some comment.

He told me that not for one game this new season had they yet played
as well as any time last season. It was just that chances were somehow
going in, oppos were missing, etc etc.

Luck may balance out over a season but, it's not GUARANTEED to balance out.

SURE we have inexperienced kids, but we KNOW, in a few seasons time,
(yeah, good chance not for us)
that Vickers, Bindon, Abbey, Elliott, Savage, Ballard, Special-K and others
will be playing at least top-half Championship level.

There is hardly an individual (other than Mola) who we think is a bad player.

I wish I knew what happened at Port Vale, but I know I'd like to see Holmes,
McIntyre, Yiadom back in the fold, for starters.

But we have a lot of inexperienced players PLUS very dodgy finances, worries
about futures, thoughts of take-overs. How would YOU at 17-18-19-20-21 have
coped with the CLUB mess we are in?

Agree. Frustrated/disappointed fans with different opinions sometimes but in the main most are ok.

Or is the fact that they're so young an advantage. Still at the age when you're feeling invincible with no long term commitments. Bit different from seasoned pros with mortgages and families at the back end of their career worrying whether they'll get another deal elsewhere.

Me too... mostly.

I think the little things are more likely to go our way if we play a more conservative and deliberate type of football. Think you've got to ask yourself why the little things are constantly going against you and how you can stack the deck in your favour, especially with inexperienced (but quality) players.

To be clear, I'm not against the intricate fancy stuff. I just think you need a stable team and performance level existing before you can start to try and bring it in. We haven't had that for a decade.

KISS.
