Snowflake Royal People are moaning about Selles because he's shit.

People correctly predicted he'd be shit because he was previously shit, inexperienced and had no relevant experience of the league.

I wasn't suggesting otherwise. But then why put Hunt in charge who was just as bad and is actually even less experienced.

Hunt had 5 games. Selles had 17.
Hunt lost 2 games, Selles lost 11.
Hunt comes with knowledge of the club and players. Selles didn't.
Hunt comes with experience playing in the lower leagues. Selles had none.
Hunt has an infectiously positive attitude. Selles is actively destroying the confidence of players.
Hunt is currently successful with the Academy. Selles is a total failure in management.

Our options are extremely limited, more so than at Selles appointment. Most people would prefer Bowen to Hunt anyway.

Hunt didn't win any games in his 5 in charge, so coming with the knowledge of the club and players and failing to win, especially playing bottom of the league at home, for me shows this isn't the job or situation for him yet. I also don't really see why we'd want to make a case for Hunt at this point either just because he used to play for us, he was poor. Not to say one day he won't be, but even if our options are limited, he shouldn't be one of them for me personally.

So if internal hires are the only option and Bowen wants to stick to his DoF role, are you Selles in?

It's like choosing between drowning in shit or sick. I don't think it would make any sort of difference to our fortunes and I'd rather Hunt come into the job when the clubs in a better situation, giving him a better opportunity to succeed. He had it rough going last year and didn't prove much of anything, I don't want a repeat scenario for him.

Honestly, I'd probably rather continue to fail with the current manager, have a takeover and then move him on rather than get rid of a failing manager now, have someone else continue to fail, then have a takeover and potentially change managers again.

Selles has to go, Hunt is a better option short term. It has nothing to do with him playing for us.

Hunt would get a better tune out of the current crop of players and would play a more basic system which is exactly what we need. Not entirely sure why YR just can't back down when he loses an argument.

In Hunt's defence last year, we had one of the worst squads in the division last year and by the time he took over they were shot by Ince’s man management and the toll of the season. They weren't cut out to manage 46 games like other squads and that shows in the run in.

By comparison, this squad should be doing better. Not promotion, but certainly not this. It's not as inexperienced as everybody is saying, and the young players are talented who could deliver much more if used properly. I'd love to see what Savage could do in a midfield 3 alongside Hutchinson and Wing, with Craig and Elliott on the bench to influence the game. He's not well suited to his current role, and is just one example.

So I say give Hunt a chance as this situation is not as hopeless, even if it does feel like that.

But then there's the point, Hunt is a better option based on what? He hasn't lost as many games as Selles in his even more limited first team managerial career where he failed to win a game? Trying to build a narrative by saying "he's played in the lower leagues" is irrelevant when he's now managing as well.

Not to say Hunt wouldn't do better, or that I wouldn't want him to do well, although there is not a shred of evidence now to say he is the better option.

With no evidence at all to justify the view I just have a feeling that Hunt would be no good.

Despite the financial problems I could see a Rowett, a Wilder or a Warnock coming in as they know that in the long run this club is probably capable of becoming at least a Championship club at some time once sold with the facilities being good and a catchment area big enough to support a team playing at a higher level than now.

If they just kept us up it would now be seen as a success so, if the club still had no funds at the end of the season, they would be readily employable elsewhere and these guys tend to want to work.

We just need a "proper" manager who has shown that he can get the best out of whatever squad he has to work with-this bloke has shown that he can't.

The problem is that this brighter future is probably a good 3-5 years away, at best.

At the moment, we are a terrible option, not an attractive one.

Didn't Pauno also try and resign only to have it rejected? Even if it's true, Selles may have his use to Dai as a punchbag.
