leon I reckon Selles could do a job for them.

I think we'd be happier if we took a couple of seasons off football

It was almost a Newcastle reserves side as well.

BTW aren't they one of the ugliest sides around (a far cry from the George Best era) with Fernandes, Garnacho, Casemiero Onana and Anthony in their line-up?
They can't even sign good looking players let alone players that can play.

Just in regards to the xG quoted there, is that not a case for Ten Hag rather than against? Evidence that his side are not giving away quality chances to the opposition, therefore you could say that Newcastle may have just finished well on the day?

If Newcastle's xG was high, in accordance with other clubs, that would be more of a problem as it shows that the team is giving away chances that opposition have a better chance of scoring.

That's no defence (pun intended) of the situation. I also didn't watch the game/highlights either, just a thought.

Figures are bandied about over Ten Hag winning more games in his first season than any other manager at that club.

That might well be the case but I thought I heard last night that Man Utd losing 8 games in the first 15 of a season is the worst ever, so which is more relevant for his managerial prospects?.

Yeah you're right, it was just two interesting stats posted with a comment rather than a consistent argument

Every game is a 'must-win' for him at the moment

It's an absolute mess but don't think he should go. Pep or Klopp would be able to do fook all with these players.

Players who have been shite under multiple managers...Maguire, Martial, McTominay, Lindelof*, Donny, Sancho (pos. Rashford)

He tried to offload the first three but they've found their way back into the first team. I'd rather see the back of the list above before ETH

If the Glazers owned LFC I think your fanbase would be a lot more organised at removing them.

[The Times] Eddie Howe asked why he had brought on two attacking substitutes, Bruno Guimarães and Callum Wilson, only four minutes after his team had gone 3-0 up against Manchester United: "The intention was to give minutes to players, so they could use it as their training session”

I winder if he’s thought about that and deliberately took the piss

4fs offside decision is dogshit...so many marginal decisions going against Utd

Paulinha(sp?) should have got a yellow for the free kick as well

You have conveniently forgotten Onana playing at being a boxer v Wolves resulting in the ref being demoted?

We also should have had a pen in that game. Totally overlooked!

The issue is more with VAR. It's actually a little unlucky for them/us that they'll call a decision against Utd that will go for another team in the next week or two.

I'd rather just get rid of VAR and actually enjoy scoring goals...the bit that makes football interesting

Not sure about that.

They need a style of play embedded in - Klopp and Pep would at the very least introduce that.

Sure, they need to offload without a doubt, but Man Utd have very good individual players who are achieving (some) positive results with late late goals when playing poorly, but they are a mess because they just don't seem to have that identity that is a key facet of top teams.

ETH has a massive struggle on his hands but I'm not sure his demeanour is best suited to turning it around. Man management of millionaires is not straightforward and he doesn't seem to be a team builder with different attributes required to get the best out of a bunch of very different characters.

He hasn't had a lot to smile about in the last few months, but it doesn't seem to be an expression that comes easily to him! Very dour character and that may well affect how the messages he is trying to get across are received.

Yes, the top managers deserve their massive earnings because of their skill in handling and dealing with the whims of big ego players.

Klopp, Guardiola and Ancelotti have that skill but it looks as though ETH hasn't and just expects players at a top club on big money to be trusted to get on with the job-in the case of Man Utd that doesn't appear to be happening and long may that continue :D .

Klopp's average prem finishing position is about 3.75. Finished 5th last season, two places behind ETH

Why can't Klopp get consistency btw? (gen question)
