Yeah but did Selles raise it, or did he just say that’s not his department when Dellor asked him?

Would be classic Dai to burst the bubble again as things start improving.

Isn't that just the sorry state of the club under Dai though. It's pretty much a copy and paste quote from each month.

Sadly no-one at the club knows if they will be paid until the money hits their account.

I'd like to hear the actual wording. As mentioned, it could well have been"Do you expect to get paid on Friday Ruben"? "I don't know, I'm just focusing on football etc.,"

We've only ever missed payday 3 times and only ever by a matter of days. That suggests they will be paid, and I actually think the EFL have taken a very hard line on this matter (unlike the FFP breaches which were completely justified). Wigan are a precedent, but in their case it was weeks or even months.

Isn’t dai supposed to have had his meeting with the efl by now? Thought it was supposed to be end of November?

That was the deadline quoted by the EFL.

Anyway, pay day is tomorrow so we won't have long to find out if there is an issue or not - would be madness if sale discussions are so far advanced to risk any further deductions now.

Prick probably ignored them.

It's this week from what I've seen in the media. Suspect the charges are wholly against him rather than the club so he'll be directly responsible for paying any fines etc. and the club won't be sanctioned further (I mean given the points deductions and the management that's already in place there's not much more the FL could do anyway).

There's no direct quote from Selles on this, and nothing from the other journos who tend to quote the after match press conference word for word.

I'd find it strange if the wages weren't paid on time tomorrow, given it appears the tax is up to date.

Think this is Dellor clickbait, he's prone to it.

Ugh. Dai ruins an otherwise good week. Payday tomorrow too. A chance for him to kill any momentum. Was worried Carlisle would do it but Dai our greatest opposition yet again.

I can’t help thinking that this will mean some sort of points deduction, although there has been no precedent set for non payment of taxes.

If the takeover is progressing, I suspect a suspended points deduction. I think there is a sporting fairness point; Smith, Wing and Knibbs have contributed to our 2 wins in a big way and they were all signed on reasonable wages we're struggling to afford. I think Wycombe acknowledged they couldn't compete with what we offered Wing.

But there is no precedent for points deductions in this area, and it would be very harsh to come down heavily on a new owner who is willing to fund the club.

Suspended points deduction treads the line in my view.

Yeah, I can climb on board that. Sets a precedent for others, shows reasonable firmness and flexibility.

I wonder if there’ll be an announcement about exclusivity soon. I do wonder if it’s all just bollox and Dai is playing games.

This is all just a little bit boring now isn't it - on the page, off the page. Dai is clearly prioritising wage payments knowing there is a process that has to be followed by the tax authorities and hoping that a deal is concluded to sell the club before he is forced to pay it - when it isn't he pays it and we go around again.

He is clearly hoping, or doesn't care, that as there is no precident for deductions for non-payment of tax that one won't be applied (a gamble that a new deduction for tax may kill off any sale) esp as a sale process is apparently well underway but not paying wages will see us lose more points hence, hopefully, paying those today.

The narrative about politics in China making it harder to get the money out is clearly bollocks. When he wants to pay, it gets paid. He just doesn't care, and it's not just HMRC. It's hotels for away games, players providing own equipment etc.,

The sooner he's gone the better.
