Wasn't Samuelson involved at Villa in some capacity at some point after he left Reading?

Yes and Derby. All three takeovers were a disaster.

Hopefully, then, not someone that'd pass an ODT successfully.

He's a broker. Finds twats to screw over football clubs and takes a fee for brokering the deal. ODT not relevant. You would need some sort of agent/broker licensing situation to cut out leeches like Samuelson and Kia Joorabchian.

Shame. Oh well let's hope something positive happens in this saga before xmas (this year).

He's never subject to the test, because he's never the one buying.

I met Chris Samuelson at a restaurant once - we’d accidentally been given his table. Apparently he was fond of the restaurant and had a specific table he liked, and the management had messed up and gotten their days wrong, (it was Tuesday and they thought he was coming on Thursday or something like that).

Anyway, the manager, completely embarrassed (this is a pretty nice restaurant) comes by and says “I’m so sorry, but we’d like to move you to another table if you could be troubled, and we’ll gladly compensate you for the cost of the meal and any other meal you’d like while you’re in town.”

My sister and cousin were both like “Yeah that’s cool.” and I kind of played the arsehole a bit. “I’m sorry, I just don’t understand. We’ve been here for 15 minutes - we’ve just ordered. Can’t we finish our meal here?”

Then out of nowhere Chris Samuelson shows up next to the manager and says “Paul, these guys can finish. We’ll be at the bar. I got some time.”

And I (realizing who it was) said “Oh wow, uh… I had no idea. Please feel free to give them the table.”

Chris was grateful, shook my hand and said thanks, then gave me a card with his number on it and told me to give him a call later.

After working up the nerve, I gave him a call that night, and to make a long story short, we had a glorious 11 month love affair, man on man, that I shall never forget. Our bodies intertwined as one, and from the beauty of Morocco, to the French Riviera, to snorkeling in the Galopagos, Chris Samuelson and I made glorious gay love to each other on six of the seven continents.

It's been a while. I still know stewards, they are getting 25%
If they decide not to attend then there is no game, fortunately most have the club at heart

Would be well below minimum wage. Another fine from HMRC incoming!

Is shagging a horse if you're a man first and foremost glorious beastial love rather than gay love?

Anybody else starting to get seriously concerned that Dai's not going this season?

Both on a mission to get the club into another league entirely.

It feels eerily similar to the manager search in the summer. Lot's of names flying around, some good some bad. Then reputable reports that we are very close with one particular party. Then nothing. Silence.

The eventual outcome of the manager search was a disaster. Let's hope for better here.

I am starting to think we’ll continue to limp along this season and get relegated. Then next season we’ll be hit with a catastrophic points deduction which will all but relegate us to the National League. Sadly, that could actually be one of the better scenarios.

I don’t trust Dai and I think out of pure spite he could finish the club as he has previous at doing so.

If there are 4 parties interested in buying Reading, there will be 4 sets of du diligence, 4 sets of negotiations.

The owner will be playing these offers against one another, its an auction of sorts.

Depending on who the winner is, it could be a number of weeks until they meet the Fit n Propa test, due to the number of parties involved and their source of funds, especially if they live abroad.

I would expect were a deal to be done before Xmas that if its a foreign consortium we might see fit n propa passed by late Feb?

If it was Mike Ashley for real, it might be quicker, given his source of wealth is very public and very well known.

Tbh i dont think Mike Ashley would see us as a venture he'd be interested in, he's more interest in buying assets with no other buyers interested, and picking them up for close to zero so that there is almost no down side risk. If he's having to compete with 3 other buyers he isn't getting it for next to nothing and it represents significant risk.

Not concerned as what will be will be. But resigned to it, and the possibility we cease to exist before we start next season.

We're so close to having a bright future on the up, we just need a new owner to slide a bridge under our feet before we look down and realise we're ten feet out over a bottomless crevasse.

For the other two clubs that Dai owned that went under, do we know if he attempted to sell them and if the sale process followed a similar pattern to what we are seeing? Or did they just die?

Believe they just sort of died and there was no attempt to sell. Any Roeslaere fans on here?

Rehne had 8 owners and relocated 4 times in their 25 year existence and never made any money. They were created to cash in on the boom in Chinese football. The moment the Chinese Government stopped encouraging investment, the bottom fell out of Chinese football. I'm not sure selling the club was ever a realistic option.

More worryingly, Roseselaire were supposedly in the process of being bought by a Brazilian consortium fronted by Mikael Silvester (incidentally an agent who works for Joorabchian's agency) when they were liquidated over an unpaid debt to a local restaurant. Reportedly, the debt would have been settled had the sale taken place. So yes, there are some similarities there.
