I'm not worshipping the guy but he's pulled some good results out of the side the last few weeks. Fair play to him with all the mess going on. He seems to have learnt a bit from some tactical errors too as well as playing a settled team.

He would have been sacked after Fleetwood at a normal club. He's been on borrowed time.

But he's shifting opinion with fans that he deserves a chance, when previously the consensus was that he was only in a job because of the club's situation.

If he gets the team to win at Peterborough then he's earned a bit of time. Lose the next 2 and it's as grim as ever.

He needs a big points return from the next 4 to start to convince me he’s any kind of long term option

But we’re getting better. He’s stopped playing randoms and chopping and changing. Team seem to be getting some sort of backbone

The likes of Shrewsbury and Eastleigh are still too fresh in the memory (and losing to Barnsley despite being the better side and should have won comfortably, and the Oxford horror show second half) for me to give him too much credit yet but it is improving

Abbey brain fart notwithstanding, that was probably one of our best performances so far this season. What I really liked was that we seemed hungrier and fighting more for second balls. Azeez was running at (and frequently past) his man, and Craig is really looking like he could be something very special. Weak link was Mukairu who, god love him, has some nice ideas but his feet are five seconds behind his brain.

Confidence will shoot up if we get out of the drop zone too. It would be great if the home games against Exeter and Port Vale were not an opportunity to escape the drop zone but put more distance between ourselves and it.

An excellent 3 points.

The relentless and unstoppable march towards a Reading Champions League victory under Selles continues!

Win at P'Boro and we'll all start speculating on the play offs. Would be a ridiculous result.

Cheltenham is more winnable, but still tricky. They are similar to ourselves; improving after an abysmal start.

1 point from those 2 would not be a bad return, but we'd need to follow it up by beating Exeter and Port Vale who really should be home bankers.

This could actually be a good thing. Allowing a talented but raw manager like Selles to develop his full potential instead of the endless appoint/sack merry go round.

He will be the new Fergie.

Maybe this was Dai’s plan all along?

I don't know what's changed, but we now seem to be able to read the game better. We seem to be able to break teams down, rather than pass it up to the edge of the penalty area and then lose it. We're fighting for second balls, closing down more effectively, it's good to see.

We know that a defeat is going to come, but I think if they can bounce back straight after with another good result, their confidence will sky rocket.

I was ready to write selles off after Fleetwood, but I think each win or good performance earns him 2 or 3 games extra and he's now got quite a bit in the bank.

I honestly believe with any other manager with lower league experience we’re easily sat in a comfortable mid table position.

However, I am starting to think that Selles was probably the only one willing to accept the role given our current shit show. It all started off fairly promising in the league and cup, but then gradually got worse until the Pompey game.

He has made lots of mistakes with his style of football and ostracising experienced players, but he does seem to be learning. Personally, I have underestimated how long it can take to gel a team together and for players to find their form. I had written off Azeez but he’s looking much better now and it’s Selles who has persisted with playing him when I was calling for him to be dropped. Plus, Selles has made the decision to put Craig in midfield and he is fast becoming my favourite player. I’d still prefer to see a different manager, but Selles is starting to earn his right to be given a chance.
