Oxford (A)

by RG30 » 20 Dec 2023 11:16

Our away fixture at Oxford United, initially scheduled for 3pm, will now kick-off at 12.30pm on Saturday 3 February, with the new time agreed by the two clubs after speaking to Thames Valley Police.

This will mark the Royals’ first visit to the Kassam Stadium since the 2-0 victory in the first round of the League Cup in August 2004.

Ticketing details for this fixture will be announced in due course.

As long as you don't wear any colours, that lends itself nicely to an afternoon having a couple of nice pints in one of Oxford's many lovely pubs.

Not much of a surprise, Oxford's game against Bristol Rovers earlier in the season was moved to the same time for policing reasons.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think it will also allow for the game to be streamed live on RoyalsTV for those in the UK & Ireland - so the club might get some revenue from the move.

Oxford is a total shithole. I'll drink in Reading before trudging up there on the train, fcuk their shitty pubs and boring city.

RG30 Home end going on-sale Monday for anyone willing to chance it.

Looking at their website, they go on sale tomorrow - albeit, you have to be a member (£30 p/a). General sale is in two weeks.

I think we'll get 1,500 tickets for this - so not worth it unless you're not a STH with a half decent amount of points.

1,487 tickets is pathetic. Bet the police had a say in that.

I expect that’s all their away end can hold. I am pretty sure that Derby received a similar amount recently.
