tmesis I went to Amersham v Westside...... nice location, with views of the hills. Apparently ......their pitch had an 11' 4" slope, side to side.

They won 4-1, and the third was their 100 league goal, in their 25th game.

...not been to Spratley's for a while - ....last game probably a Vase/Cup tie with Big Bad Marcus Richardson's Highmoor. Need to look that one up?

Has always been a tad basic up there but friendly place ...evidently now on the up after some long barren years in the SSM leagues.
Jake Tabor now listed as having scored 50 goals this season - may well incl. Cup games.
As mentioned on here they have had ex-pro Richard Paquette turning out for them too.

Pitch slope was legendary and they entirely relandscaped the ground 80s or 90s - hence why there is/was a prodigious 'drop' down to the field opposite the main stand.
Was the mysterious derelict old barn/shed structure still there?
- rumoured to be of some agrarian historical import so they couldn't touch it.
In less genteel parts of the world I'd imagine someone would have 'accidentally' backed a large lorry into it at high speed?

Yes.

I'd assumed it was on old changing room block or something like that. It doesn't exactly look like a structure of particular historical merit.

Probably of no interest here but, Brett Pitman…he of ex Bournemouth, Pompey etc has scored 82 goals in his last 61 games in non-league (the well-funded/ambitious Portchester & Shaftsbury) including 7 in His last game

...of interest ... on this thread of course -'specially as it's a featured league (Wessex) - I may have "mentioned it in passing" about a dozen posts back

(Wiki) ... Brett's origins were on Jersey presumably where B'muff spotted him? ...

Given Brett has said he'd like to represent Jersey at international level (he played for their u18 team) it's a shame to note that FIFA have now changed their rules to say that only sovereign states can be member nations so they don't get another Gibraltar.

Odd to think of Shaftesbury as being well-funded.

Pleasant little set-up, mainly due to it having a high hedge on three sides, and for being within walking distance of the very pleasant centre of Shaftesbury. In truth, I really went for Gold Hill, of Hovis advert fame.

Went down to Bottom Meadow for the first time in a while to see Bracknell
Uninspiring game and a shadow of the team that charged up the league last year but Grant's 80th minute goal gave them the 3 pts

Comfortably Brackley's best performance of the season. After being under a lot of pressure in the first 15/20 minutes, Brackley gradually took control. Following a wonderful strike from Gudger of all people, they never looked back. Loan signing Connor Hall continued to shine with another goal.

Whats going on at Farnham? Is it all going a bit rocky? U23 team gone i understand.

Basingstoke Town are pretty much back to full strength so hoping results will improve. Playing on a 4G clearly helping getting games played compared to others but coincided with a terrible run of injuries. Very much in danger of being sucked in to a relegation scrap so now need to start picking up points quick.

IF the statement is to be believed then the management team left for a job in adult football, and then a few players left to join adult teams.

On paper it looks like a valid reason, they didn't want to remain in a league they weren't going to be competitive in.
They're almost guaranteed promotion now so can't imagine the money tap has been switched off.
