Hound Surely it’d take years, loads of hassle and a lot of money for Yongge to make any kind of money from the stadium without a club in it and selling Bearwood for housing. Makes no sense really

If it guarantees him more money in the short and long-term, then it would make sense. As mentioned, if an investor is only willing to pay £30m for the lot but a property developer is willing to pay £25m for the training ground and then someone else a further £25m for the stadium, he can reap whatever he wants from that. I suspect he's holding out for all possibilities. He obviously doesn't care about the club, so why would he care who he sells his assets to because that's all he see's them as.

Also, Bearwood doesn't have to be just a property developer for houses, there are various other sites that could be built on that land e.g. golf course.

Ten Bobsworth Dai has had all the time he would need to get relevant professional advice and is unlikely to be impressed by the personal abuse or attempts to steamroller him.

If anything, these are much more likely to stiffen his resolve to get the best financial outcome for himself and anyone else financially connected to him.

I think the perception seems to be that he can't be anymore obtuse with the situation at the moment, hence the protests.

It is possible that the whole thing has got to him and he's ceased to think rationally and is willing to cut off his nose to spite his face. I don't know the whole background but its not a conclusion I would jump to. The signs that I am picking up are of someone under pressure who may or may not be in full control of events.

I think its usually a good idea to follow the money when you can. Its not always easy and I suspect its particularly difficult in this case but a lot of cash has been spent on Reading. Where exactly did it all come from? Does Dai, for example, owe this money (or any of it) to somebody else.

I don't only take an interest in footie; I have just been having a look at the Fujitsu Story on its website. It begins with the statement:

We use technology to make happier lives

That's their 'perception' anyway.

There’s no way that bit of land where the stadium is worth anything like 25m though. And without a full time club there’ll be very very little that could fill that stadium on a regular basis (and by fill I mean 10k+) certainly doubt many golf clubs have £25m hanging around to spend on a course either

I can’t see how chopping the pieces up makes it worth any more tbh

just more waffle but the club released a statement a couple of hours ago TL;DR ? stay off the pitch, club is for sale, the rest is just blah blah blah

Following the abandonment of Saturday’s match versus Port Vale, the club are in dialogue with relevant authorities, including the FA and the EFL and are yet to be informed of the appropriate course of action.

Our small ticket office team are currently inundated with understandable questions from fans around purchases. The club would like to request patience on all enquiries whilst we wait on guidance from the above-mentioned parties. We will respond as soon as possible, however please accept a delay in our usual response timelines.

The support for our manager and players, as always, has been outstanding, and we must continue this support as the team continue to work incredibly hard to secure results on the pitch. The Club understands the strength of feeling from our fanbase, however, it is imperative for us to remind supporters that no matter the purpose – it is illegal to throw missiles onto the pitch or enter the field of play.

Saturday’s disruption, whilst peaceful, has already caused various internal club issues, not least significant damage to the pitch and a negative personal impact on various club personnel. We recognise the objectives of the protest were not to cause harm in these areas – however the collateral effect of such actions must be recognised.

Therefore, we plead with our fans to keep any future protests legal and safe to avoid further sanctions and/or damage to the club, its staff and its fanbase.

The club acknowledges yesterday’s statement from the EFL regarding Mr Dai. We again confirm that Mr Dai is committed to selling Reading Football Club and discussions with various parties are continuing.

TBF, the people doing knee-slides on the pitch etc did no-one any favours. Protest by all means, but don't take the piss.

I share your thoughts on this.

He has proved himself to be a totally useless owner, but some / most of his inaction just seems illogical. Without wanting to be melodramatic about it I do wonder if he just isn't being allowed to act in the club's interests as he has been told he needs to look after his Chinese creditors first.... or else....

He may not be the biggest villain in this sad story.

Dont know why, but i am just sensing a thawing, that statement in the sale was ever so slightly more definite and positive.

I am feeling a chink of light.

I don't trust a word the Club or Pang says. Dai is a mute but I wouldn’t trust him either. I'll only be positive when there is evidence of real progress. I took reports by John Percy and James Earnshaw as evidence last time, but it's no sleight on them to say that it was misplaced. Dai is untrustworthy, erratic and an idiot.

From all accounts if he is in trouble with debts in China it's all of his own doing. His past deeds (and lies) are coming back to haunt him big time. He is the biggest villain IMO and it's now appearing even more incredible that the EFL couldn't see him for what he was before they approved him.

Maybe he'll go the same way as the last crook who tried to kill off our club. Does he own a super yacht?
