No they are all being screwed over by their various federations independently. Do your research, it happens at most major tournaments for the African nations.

End of the Gambia v Cameroon match is mental. Cameroon were 1-2 down with minutes to go. Now winning 3-2 and Gambia have just had a goal disallowed for a deliberate handball, and you won't see a more obvious handball, that somehow the ref misses and VAR had to give.

CAF reportedly about to announce that the next Afcon is going to be moved from June 2025 to Decemer 2025 - January 2026

Not only does that mean players in England would miss the Christmas schedule and into the new year, but FIFA's rules say clubs only have to release players for one international finals tournament per year, and the world cup is due to happen in 2026
