Depth is always welcome, but I'm not too excited. Presumably it would be academy products from big clubs who may be talented, but won't have experience to hit the ground running. As Ruben says in December, we've spent the first half of the season giving inexperienced players the chance to learn and it was very hard. Do we want to do that again?

I know Dean and Hutchinson are bogeymen to a lot of fans, but they may be better options than having Bindon play alongside another teenager if Holmes gets injured.

Agree on the prem youth player - rather not really. Have some depth in the U21 anyway - Stickland etc

Would take Alfie Doughty on loan with them covering the wages, Dorsett can move to CB. Seems fair I reckon.

If we start 24/25 in L1 with a new owner it's not hyperbole to say the Academy has saved us. Allowing us to field a competitive squad on the pitch and bring in cash off it to ensure we survive.

Kudos to all the staff running it who have kept up professionalism and high standard during Dai's disastrous era.

I wonder where we would be if we were Cat 2 instead for this season. It does seem like the upkeep of the academy is proving significant though as well, but it's certainly proved it's worth to keep us going, but we haven't maximised it's potential by any means over the last decade, in fact we've probably only benefitted from a fraction of it.

Well if we'd just accepted going down to Cat 2 previously rather than trying to get it back, we'd be a few million better off (still completely oxf*rd financially) and we wouldn't have Vickers and a bunch of other good young players we've used/sold this season, so we'd 6/7 points adrift.

We may not have necessarily lost Vickers, we offered him his first pro contract in May last year. It would have potentially affected players we have in there now who could be poached by Cat One academies I guess, but we seem to be selling a few off at the moment anyway.

I think he's been too involved for Luton to send him out on loan. Dan Potts would probably be the best LB option from Luton, as he hasn't played this season but has played fairly regularly in the Championship.
