If I was a Port Vale fan, I'd feel a whole lot better.

Another game in hand now for a couple of our rivals -

Cheltenham's Sky Bet League One fixture with Burton Albion has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

After consistent heavy rainfall in the area this afternoon, the surface at the Pirelli Stadium has been deemed unplayable.

A pitch inspection was carried out by the match officials on arrival shortly before 6:00PM this evening and the decision was made to postpone the match.

Port Vale lose tonight, but Exeter come from behind against Peterborough. 2nd successive win for Fleetwood, we could really do with that momentum being killed off quickly.

Fleetwood have picked up under Adam & have some momentum. Games v Wycombe & Vale helped. Despite that momentum, we have taken a point more than them over the last 4 games.

Charlton are above us on GD but 2 of the next 4 and 3 of the next 6 are against teams in the relegation zone.

The Division is beginning to concertina somewhat, with teams who - at Christmas were looking up at the Play-Offs - are now looking down; Bristol Rovers being one to watch....when I have time I will check out what the highest points total in League 1 that still resulted in relegation was, and the mean for the last 20 Years to give us an indication as to what total we are aiming at in order to survive.

Since the 99/00 season - 2 teams have gone down with 51 and 5 with 50. So 52 should absolutely see you safe.

Unless I've miscalculated on average 50 points are needed.

Lowest ever needed to survive the drop was just 41.

So to be sure (and with no more deductions) we need to pick up the equivalent of 7 wins in 16 games. On current form over the past 14 games, we are on target to get to 58.

Looked at the last 5 full seasons yesterday and Plymouth went down with 50 points in 2018 I believe, Notts County and Crawley also finished on 50 in 2014/15 and Oldham finished on 50 in 2017/18. 51 should be the benchmark for survival. So another 20 points in 16 games, should be doable.

There are a lot of clubs in it, if we can get up to sort of 15th~ in the table with 6 games to go, even if it's tight I don't think we would go down because there are a lot of teams who would have to climb above us by that point. Unless we went on a disastrous run like earlier in the season by that point that is.

Stuff that. Win all remaining games and we're in the play offs.
