Sorry chaps but that was terrible. Just like the first 60 mins on Tuesday Wing and Azeez were woeful. In fact i can't think of any of the team that come out with much credit.

We play appalling football. It's mostly pointless long balls to Smith or getting it wide right and hoping Azeez will do something, anything.

Savage was excellent when he came on Tuesday but was utterly lost today. Our midfield was non existent today. Shrewsbury just walked through us. If they were any good we'd have been completely fcuked.

Yeah midfield was atrocious today.

Savage instead of Craig was asking for trouble. Craig protects the defence while Savage just goes missing for long periods

Some right melts overreacting to today. It was a bad result and bad performance, it happens even to the best team in this league. This squad must be out on its feet after such a packed schedule in February. Respond with 4 or 6 points from Carlisle and Wycombe and all is fine.

Dunno what you lot saw, I thought we were on top throughout, utterly dominant and bizarrely robbed of three points. Sure the Shrews were managing the second half but if Reading played that game 10 times they’d have won 9 of them.

Disastrous luck, but sometimes that’s how it goes. We’ve had our share over the years.

yes agree…it’s easy to judge and wax lyrical from the usual ‘Royals TV’ and BBC Berks coverage

Guess you had to actually be there

I think one of the things we have struggled with for years is decision making - and probably the reason why it always feels like we have a strong and talented squad yet continue to look like we are worse than we should be. Our decision making is terrible.

2 or 3 occasions today players took the tougher decision to go-for-glory and score instead of squaring it to a team mate - and that's very frustrating.

However, on the flip side, at times for years we've looked bereft of confidence and have passed it around the edge of the box with everyone looking terrified to take the chance and (likely) lose the ball.

We need some tweaks but we somehow feel like we are getting there.

Portsmouth, we attacked and were obviously second best against a team who will likely go up. Port Vale, we weren't at our best but I think us as fans and players knew we could simply turn the screw and win it, and today - we probably underestimated a teams ability to score 2 worldies and just didn't have the answer to win.

5 months ago, we'd have lost 6-0, drawn 0-0 or lost 1-0 and today gone 3-0 down in a freakish collapse.

It's not good but it's progress!

Funny, I'm reading plenty of unhappiness from people who were there.

Their third goal was down to the lino who had ridiculous amounts of bantz and time wasting with their corner taker

Thought it was a good match, with better officiating we’d have won

Yeah I was. And luck doesn't come into it. To say we were robbed is a joke. Playing the ball around at the back isn't dominating. We had about 2 shots on target second half. Shrewsbury were completely comfortable 2nd half. Completely.

WestYorksRoyal Some right melts overreacting to today. It was a bad result and bad performance, it happens even to the best team in this league. This squad must be out on its feet after such a packed schedule in February. Respond with 4 or 6 points from Carlisle and Wycombe and all is fine.

You must be new here, whenever we lose it`s always somebodies fault, today Button got shot at.

I think it’s fair to ask questions of Button. He generally looks the part but just doesn’t seem to save a lot. None of the 3 yesterday were howlers by any stretch but could possibly have done better on all

I don’t think Shrewsbury were ever especially comfortable- there was a period where they were picking ok yellow cards every couple of minutes and were right under the cosh. The subs didn’t perform and took the wind out of our sails a bit

That alongside the final ball/cross etc esp from Wing and Azeez were way below their usual standards. Got into good positions and constantly fluffed it

Also we took our biggest player off but continued to try to hit the back post from the right. Not clever

Agree, Bindon and Mola probably had most of our possession passing it back and forth. However there was very little movement ahead of them for them to do anything, and what little there was was often missed

Button is costing us way more points than he's saved us this season, 2 goals in last three games beaten at near post and his positioning and command of box can be poor.

As an aside, it's shambolic how badly Mick and Adi continue to mispronounce Ehibhatiomhans name. Would take a proper radio man 30 seconds to find out, but ETTYBATTYOMAN isn't good enough. Ignorant from Wattyams and Gootting.

There's a difference between passing at the back and overplaying at the back between centre backs and keeper. This was not a Jaap Stam situation. Even when we had the ball at the back we were looking to create angles and play vertically.

They certainly weren't comfortable and we were threatening every time we went forward. Shrewsbury were just lucky that our final ball wasn't there.

Haven’t seen the highlights but the shot got a massive deflection to wrong foot him. Didn’t really blame him on that. The third though? Seemed to beat him in the middle of the goal on first impression

Also thought the first took a deflection. Was right behind the 3rd, great hit - don’t think anyone is saving that. Load of swerve on it.

Exactly how I saw it
But he shouldn't have been beaten at the near post for the second

Seen the first again from behind the goal, big deflection and totally wrong foots Button.

Does get a hand to it, so maybe could’ve kept it out, but don’t think you can blame him for that one. Looks like it would’ve been a relatively easy stop without the deflection. Defenders should’ve been out to meet the player quicker.
