WestYorksRoyal The PL are screwing up the PSR rules with timings. The final round of fixtures kick off at 4pm on 19 May - every club should know the outcome of their season at 6pm. If Luton are half celebrating survival but know it's dependent upon the outcome of Forest's appeal, it will be the most farcical scene in the Premier League history, and there is no chance PSR will survive given the inevitable reaction.
The luxury tax idea isn't a total non starter. Kieran Maguire in his pod suggested that if you make it 10% or so it's useless as billionaire owners won't care. But he thought it would work if you went big and made it 400% or so which was shared among other PL teams and the pyramid; even billionaires are not willing to pay that sort of money especially if it strengthens rivals.

ooh thats an angle I hadn't thought of. having to dish out fine money for breaking rules and the fine gets split between everyone else. why not?!

WestYorksRoyal Sounds like shit hitting the fan with 777's Everton takeover. Sky reporting that the Premier League have approved in principle subject to several conditions:
- All money they have lent so far is converted to equity (easy enough)
- £60m is placed in escrow to help Everton's day to day funding
- They demonstrate they have the funding to complete the stadium.
In addition, a £160m loan repayment is due to MSP capital who had exclusivity and lent to Everton last season. 777 have requested an extension and are now scramble around for extra funding to complete the deal.
This does not end well.

Ascotexgunner Leeds owe 180 million in unpaid transfer fees.
You know the more I read about these clubs the more angry I get knowing that we have continually been kicked in the nuts. Yes we broke rules but the likes of Leicester, Leeds, West Brom all seem to go under the radar. I guarantee they will get a reduced points deduction and that will be it..... With us it's a reduced points deduction WITH an impossible budget and embargoes. Grrrrr

Franchise FC It’s got me thinking that transfers should be financed as …
1. All base fees paid up front with no stage payments
2. All add ons placed in escrow
3. All fees and taxes to be paid in full within 14 days, otherwise the registration is cancelled, meaning the buying club still has to pay the player, but can’t play him/her
To ensure that the current owners pay the entire fee, not screw the clubs over by spending on the never never and then skidaddling
Sadly, it would need worldwide acceptance and there’s simply no way that some of the big clubs in Europe would accept it as they are some of the biggest culprits (see Barca as an example)

It would be a massive, massive change of culture - the whole of world football runs on credit and phased payments.

They've been prioritising HMRC and their own staff, so keeping it within football, if you like.

Winston Biscuit If anyone is interested then its well worth listening back to the podcast from yesterday called Outspoken With White & Jordan which is just a kind of highlights thing of their daily talksport show. They had an FFP specialist on talking about Chelsea. He explained this whole thing around them selling 2 hotels to themselves and how they could be in trouble over it. Was genuinely quite interesting.

You just can't make these things up when it comes to what these clubs will do to get more money. Yet another club that might go the same way as Man City but won't. What year did they reckon the charges might actually get to be heard?

If the charges are PSR related then it will be heard relatively quickly to ensure the deductions are in place for next season. Man City's charges aren't PSR related which is why comparing the time being taken to get through their process to say Everton is pointless.
