JedMaxwell Tom McIntyre's just got promoted. I look forward to welcoming him back on loan next January when he's only played three times before Christmas.

Twice in the FL Cup and once in the FA Cup ?

Portsmouth won't be playing in the FA Cup before Xmas, so it'll 3 LC apps.

Highgate United, needing to win their final game 12-0 against Bewdley Town to secure a play off spot in the Midlands Premier Division (Step 5) do so with a last minute goal from 40 year old Aaron Brown.

Slightly suss, although their opponents had amassed a staggering 5pts in their previous 33 games with a goal difference of -137.

The commentator of Stevenage's game at Oxford during the week said that Nesta Guinness-Walker is the great grandson of Sir Alec Guinness.
That one passed me by if indeed it was common knowledge in his time here.

It was mentioned pretty regularly on here, wasn’t he referred to using some sort of Star Wars related nickname sometimes ?

Wasxdefinitely known about on here. He was occasionally referred to as Obi Wan. Mainly when Rahman was first choice and NGW's stock was rising as his gametime diminished.

Obi-Wan (if he'd ever got good enough we could have added Bissaka to it).

Saw Villa have been drawn against Olympiacos in the European conference semi

Can Abbey play in that? Sounds like he’s been starting for them and doing well

karbota Congrats to Parky with back to back promotions, who was the Banker (Despair) who said he cant man manage!

Reportage, you thick goon, it was half his squad at Bradford who said it; great when things are going well but clueless when things get a little bit tricky and too eager to try to please everyone.

I guess having a budget 2 to 3 times bigger than every other club in the league helps oil the wheels.

Ex-adversary now on tour, who'd go and watch his "show" if it rocked up at the Hexagon?

I’d certainly go if he came to Crawley’s Hawth Theatre. Always fascinating to hear controversial figures look back over their lives - saw John Lydon a couple of years ago and in a relaxed environment, he was totally different from his expected persona.

Orion1871 Sunderland announce Charlie Hurley has passed away.

https://safc.com/news/club-news/2024/april/safc-mourning-the-loss-of-charlie-hurley

This is very sad news.

Reading have now also announced it.

https://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/2024/a ... 1936-2024/

I trust Reading will organise a minute's silence for Charlie on Saturday, after all he "found" Robin and brought the club its first promotion in 50 years.

About 20 years ago I did suggest to BBC Berks that they should look to arrange an interview with him. Shame that never happened as I'm sure he could have added a bit more colour to his time at the club.
