Burton are so poor. If they win this, it'll be 2 points from our fixtures with them, Fleetwood and Shrewsbury. Incredible.

Clyde1998 Can’t say the Burton stewards have helped with the situation in the away end - fuelling the environment which has lead to multiple waves of objects being thrown at their keeper.

Most of the issues seem to have started when the ‘head stewards’ were removing inflatables about ten minutes before kick-off and responded aggressively to complaints about it.

One has apparently challenged a few of our fans to a fight outside the ground. Don’t know the context, but seems to have been before anything was being thrown.

Looked like lighters and vapes being thrown at their keeper, especially after his confrontation with Ehib. The latter objects appear to be mostly food.

Half-time will hopefully ease the powder keg which was building by throughout that half.

Sounds like the issues started when fans took in objects they were told not to take in to the ground. Can't blame the Burton stewards, and anyone who throws lighters and vapes at someone because of it is a grade A twat.

Burton are poor, but you can't gift a team 3 goals and expect anything.

Soft as they were, one was from 25 yards and another was an overhead kick. You normal get more margin for error at this level.

Really really disappointing, but I guess it doesn't matter. Need to find a way of stemming goals conceded away if we want to challenge for top 6 next season.

Also really lacking in creativity aside from Wing. Goals from a FK and PK, Azeez hasn't offered much for a while now. Wide areas top priority area to strengthen.

Another pathetic away performance. What does Selles say to them away that he doesn't say at home. We have a serious problem that looks like it will continue next season the way we are going. Something is wrong.

In terms of the inflatables. People were being searched before entering the ground and they didn’t care if people had them. The normal stewards didn’t care in the ground. It had been going on for around 25 minutes, before a couple of ‘high ranking’ stewards started taking them away a rather aggressively. Just felt one or two people who wanted to control things. Don’t think Burton ever officially said inflatables were banned (unless I missed it). Felt like awful management of the situation.

Throwing vapes, lighters, etc. is unjustifiable.

A lot of bedwetting on BBCRB, saying we wouldn't even be top half without the points deduction.

A lot of "We're Reading, it's our first L1 season in 21 years, we should be near the top of the table" attitudes about. Whereas it should be "We had about 10 senior players and no manager in July and we've stayed up despite everything."

How tinpot are Burton. They run out of beer (considering their name) and don't have enough terracing for the away fans

Considering the mess the clubs in it's good we stayed up. With a decent owner we should be aspiring to challenge for promotion at this level though so I get fans who say that

Not happy with the performance today. Even so, looking back at away performances, the worst results were in the first half of the season (barring Bolton) with results steadily becoming better; not great, but better. We all would love to end this season strong with two more wins but I have to chalk this up to Burton having more to play for and our mostly young players just being tired emotionally. Oh, and the match winner being an overhead kick, ok, that was a good goal.

It's just too many players without great first touches or short passing trying to overcomplicate stuff too much.

And it's obvious the team don't really work much on crossing and attacking crossing.

Give us a big, good pitch and an open game and we're a threat to most teams. But we rely too much on scoring worldies and can't play our way through a pack defence.

We have a good base to build from.

We need to be more creative as an attacking unit, Smith is a good finisher if given space in the area but most of our balls are hit long hoping he can control the ball whilst having two defenders on him.

Elliot has been great since his move into the middle and i really think he can be that link up to Smith up front to take the pressure off Wing and his Hollywood passing. So would go with something like this:

Pereira

Yiadom Mbengue Bindon Mola

Wing Craig

Azeez Elliot Knibbs

Smith

Wing can sit deep and be creative especially with Craig doing the dirty work around him. Elliot can sit behind Smith and play his intricate passing and Knibbs can move back out left and just run at people. Kelvin.E can move back to being a sub and a great option later in the second half.
