I'm shocked that high profile football agents and football club owners and senior executives act like they're in the mob.

Another charge reported on Twitter. This time Redwood have lent money to Dai's holding company and his shares in Reading FC are the collateral.

Suggests things are close. If they're loaning money to his HoldCo, it suggests it's not funding the operations of the club. So perhaps a down payment on the takeover itself while final legal checks go through?

So, and I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong,

Redwood have lead money and Dai's shares in the club are the collateral - so if the deal falls through and Dai/the club default on repayments of that loan, Redwood can claim the shares as repayment? Therefore essentially getting the club for nothing.

If that's correct, then suggests it is basically done then doesn't it?

Nothing is done until it's done. But if Dai wants to change his mind, he has to repay all money lent over April and May otherwise the club and Bearwood can be seized at which will be a cut price.

Also interesting* that this charge was signed off by Dai's sister and not Dai.

Leo Rifkind signing for Redwood with Chiron's Sam Helmy witnessing.

Of course, but you know what I mean - signing a charge over both the training ground and the shares in the club can only be a positive sign as is the fact that Dai's sister (who seems less flighty) has signed the latest charge.

This charge was also entered into on the 19th April, so given we are a week later now, may suggest things are moving at pace and the final deal may be days (though likely a couple of weeks) away from being announced.

Snowflake Royal The next month is going to be super boring isn’t it.

Nothing to play for other than pride and momentum to take into next season in the remaining two games.

Contract negotiations and releases likely mostly on hold for the takeover. Blackout on takeover info until its done or falls through.

Speculation on new signings pointless until the takeover goes through, or if it doesn’t.

Hard to get too interested in ups and downs while we wait to see if we have a club.

I agree IR.

With regards to the takeover I am hoping that Howe did so much legwork to get to exclusivity that it’ll be completed sooner rather than later. Going with almost a full glass I reckon it’ll be by 26 April.

Please let this happen today or tomorrow.

So the charge is for 240M shares at 50p. I'm no expert , so does that mean its costing £120M?

That's their nominal value, which reflects what Dai originally put into the club when they were issued. It doesn't reflect their market value, which is substantially less than 50p per share.

These things are complicated and take time, but if I was in Chiron's position I would be breaking my back to try and get it done by tomorrow's game so I can introduce myself to the staff, players and fans before everyone goes away for the off season. Would boost all contract renewal discussions and let us start recruiting immediately.

I think it's the point of no return. This seems to be like a mortgage now - Dai still owns the club, but if he falls behind on repayment of the loan the Redwood get all of Dai's shares. You wouldn't enter into a binding agreement like that unless the deal is happening.

Certainly bodes well that after a month of paying accountants and legal firms to undertake detailed due diligence, they're still willing to lend money. They haven't found anything to put them off.

Add in the leverage the charges give them over Dai, I think we're at the stage where it's very likely.

Definitely rate that under spouts as much clickbait nonsense as possible, so thoroughly unreliable.
