6 weeks is a pretty short timeframe to get a transaction completed. So I wouldn't worry too much at this stage.

If I were speculating, it could be an amendment to the articles / a board resolution for the same, to ensure that a sale of the minority shareholding held by the Thais can be forced through at the same time Dai sells.

Yep, impossible that this is a coincidence. All signs are pointing to this happening, though usual caveats apply.

It could also be as boring as amending the articles to remove or qualify the right of the directors to block a transfer of shares - which would have made the charge held over Renhe’s Reading Fc shares pretty useless.

Someone on Twitter has mentioned that this has happened 3 times in the last 23 years and that on 2 occasions it was due to a change of ownership.

Articles of association are "written rules about running the company agreed by the shareholders or guarantors, directors and the company secretary".

Scanning through the most recent document, there are explicit references to Renhe which would have to be removed for the takeover to occur. As an example:

11.2 - The quorum for Directors' meetings is two Directors, provided that at least one of the Directors is a Renhe Director. No meeting of the Directors can take place in the absence of a Renhe Director.

I think it's likely a positive sign.

BBC are as clueless as the rest of us. Chances are, when/if it does happen, they will be the last to report it.

So either the deal completes soon or the club is even more financially handicapped than it was a few months back.

OR - Dai is unable/unwilling to pay the lenders back, and they use that as an event of default under the charges to seize control of the club.

I assume that either their meetings with Nigel Howe are no longer happening or he hasn't been able to add anything to what has already been said.
