East Grinstead Royal What are the rules regarding bets on other clubs?

The Royal Forester If he is found guilty, that'll be a long ban. What with Howe and Bowen banned and Pang nowhere to be seen, who will oversee transfers etc. The new owners, must be wondering what sort of madhouse, they are buying. The madhouse gets even madder. Wouldn't it be nice if SJM still run the club?

He is not allowed to bet on any football under any circumstances while employed by the club. The FA visit clubs at the start of every season and remind them of this so the fact he has again chosen to ignore the rules is incomprehensible and will face a heafty fine and likely suspension.

He’s been charged, not convicted.
Evens he gets found not guilty….
What other rules has he ignored (hard to keep track….) ?

I guess that the FA will be slightly more lenient as he is not a player so can't directly affect what happens on the pitch (e.g Paqueta and his yellow cards).
Still, he will probably get banned from all football matters for a period of time.
What a shambles our club has become in so many ways.

Paqueta is accused of spot fixing which is the most serious of the lot alongside failing to provide information. As we discussed last week on GF he’ll get the book chucked at him if found guilty.
Bowen’s case isn’t on that level but as I stated it is forbidden to be betting on any form of football and the FA couldn’t make it any clearer to clubs or individuals. If found guilty.
Here’s an interesting case from yesterday which should provide some context https://www.thefa.com/news/2024/may/29/huw-lake-sanctioned-300524

Snowflake Royal Great, so the only explanation for Bowen being charged with betting on football whilst employed by a professional football team for a second time is that he is a gambling addict.
Our man in charge of transfers and contracts, appears to be a gambling addict.
