Mr Optimist I’m surprised no-one has mentioned yet that Oxford have signed Sheffield Wednesday’s player of the season, Will Vaulks, on a free transfer too.

Seems to have created quite a jizzfest in Oxfordshire.

They've also signed Chelsea wonderkid Josh McEachran.

Wasn't he there already but was he on loan?

Looks like he was already there perm, just saw something around them announcing his signing, but must've just been a new contract :|

He’s only the player John Swift could’ve been (if JS was a bitshit).

Isn't that the big geezer with the extra long throw in? He's annoying for that, but nothing scary otherwise for opponents to worry about.

Yeah, that’s him, played for Cardiff, not sure how that will fit in to Oxford “HMS Pisss the League” United’s total football style of play, but we shall see. By all accounts Vaulks is a good egg and will provide some Championship level experience so a reasonable signing but they will need a few more to stand any chance of staying up.

Being said that Douglas Luiz moving from Villa to Juventus is ready to go through but is just waiting on Juventus womens team to also sign Alisha Lehmann, who is his girlfriend ans who also plays for Villa. Part of his demand is that they sign her so it's now on to her contract.

That situation can't have happened too often.

I wonder if she is in a strong position to demand crazy wages, knowing her not agreeing could see Luiz deal fall through?

Andrea Belotti reportedly on his way to Como.

What a quick fall from grace that has been. From being the man all the top teams want, with rumours of €80m+ offers, but he liked staying at Torino as he was the main man, to finally taking the plunge and moving away only to find it didn't go well and now being sold for €4.5M to Serie A new boys.

One of the main reasons Matt Le Tissier never left Soton, the fear that he wouldn't be quite as good at a bigger club.

Can't believe he's only 30. I thought he was in his early 30s at the last Euros.

Chelsea sign Estevao, a Brazilian winger who has just turned 17 and only played 15 professional games, for a total fee of £51M

Another in a long line of 'next wonderkid' to come out of South America

And but for those pesky FIFA/UEFA/PL rules they could give him a 15 year contract to spread the financial impact

Are Chelsea, Villa, Everton & Newcastle just moving youth players around between themselves at inflated prices to help each other avoid FFP problems?

Yes, fair play for finding the next loophole.

This will happen each June and also we will see a lot more transfers of young players to say L1 sides for free or nominal fee with a massive sell on clause i.e. like Savage and Eliott to us last summer - think Burton have just signed a player under similar terms.

Just blatant loopholing of the FFP rules isn't it? The FA need to tighten that up

not sure how you can though. Chelsea can just say that they think he is a great future talent and want him on their books.

who knows, maybe by the next world cup we will all be singing Omari Kellyman songs and hoping he can make sure ICH!

The real challenge is to come up with a chant for him that doesn't use the Banana Boat song.
