It was both. Only an idiot agrees to a sale that's inviable.

No, if Wycombe offered to buy Bearwood it was down to them to do their checks. There was no restriction on us selling it.

Idiotic take. Dai was exploring how to maximise his value from selling the club and Wycombe's Bearwood offer was a complete waste of time and energy, just like Storey's attention seeking stunt.

This is all a bit tedious and pointless, but hey ho, isn't everything about the club right now.

1) There was a good chance it wouldn't have been that hard to change the Bearwood covenant thing about only used for RFC, especially if we stayed as tenants.

2) multiple big transfers have been blocked by Dai in the past, so he'sclearly involved with them. And if there's a sniff of getting some of his money back you can bet he's interested now.

3) The idea Dai's own staff would be hiding info from him on potential transfer income is pretty laughable.

This is all pretty desperate stuff.

Hardly idiotic, but if you want to lower the tone….
We don’t know who instigated what but it’s a pretty established maxim that the buyer needs to ensure their purchase is what they are expecting, hence it’s the buyer who does the searches and asks the questions on a house sale.
The planning clause needn’t have stopped the sale and plenty of sales go ahead with potential barriers that just get factored into the price.

Either those at the club tried to sell the training ground knowing there was a clause in the planning permission or they didn't, It's the same when you sell your house, you're not going to tell them all that's wrong with the house, it's down to them to find out, but in this situation it was pretty clear they would have found out so overall a waste of time..... unless the Wycombe chairman at the time saw it as a way to become the preferred bidder for the rest of the club since he's sniffing around it now. That would have been harsh on Wycombe, first doing the dirty on Reading, then finding out it was actually the chairman doing the dirty on them.

Do we know if the Olise sell on clause stipulates an immediate payment or whether it will be in installments?

Saw the news of Olise to Bayern and I have to say good for him! Kid is a special talent and it was fun to watch him while he was in our side!

Will there be a sell on fee going to us in this deal? Will make that 6m look a bit better, still shocking that we let his release clause be that small in the first place...

You’ll be a little less shocked then ….

According to the Beeb Bayern paid £60million for him. So will we get £5.2 million and if so where will it go? Pay off debts? Into the club funds? Or will it get a quick transfer to China?

It will take years for us to get the full sell on fee. We get it in stages as Palace will get the fee paid in stages over a number of years. Each time they get a payment, we get our % of that.

Still, whatever we get this summer will be very helpful

That’s your guess rather than fact though
If there are add ons then we would only get a share of that as it became payable but no reason why the contract couldn’t mean we get any share of the actual fee up front.
Unless you’ve seen the contract…..

I don't think you understood Winst, because that's exactly what he's saying. Pretty much all fees for years are paid in installments.

I understood perfectly.
First of all add ons are not the same as payments by instalments. The first is extra payments which may or may not become payable if certain milestones are achieved. Obviously we’d only get a share if the milestone is achieved.
Instalments is just a payment plan. But there is no reason why our sell on amount (if it exists) couldn’t be payable in one lump sum. If Palace get £30 million now and we are due 10% of the total then them paying out £6 million isn’t unfeasible. It would just be a negotiation point when the contract is drawn up
But we don’t know. It’s all speculation and we probably won’t know until whenever this years accounts get published

We do know that virtually no tranfers are upfront payments.

Don't know why you're still trying to argue something that wasn’t said when you apparently understood what was said.

So, I'll just leave you to it.

Don't we also get a FIFA solidarity payment and training compensation as he is under 23 and this is an international transfer?
