Hound
LUX At least we’ve got the enjoyable distraction of that exciting England team to cheer us up.

Reminded me quite a lot of many Reading performances over the last decade or so (less so last season). Zero energy, half hearted pressing, midfield bypassed and overly negative. A great watch!

Don't forget the clueless manager who all the players really like when asked.

72 bus
Franchise FC
Stranded Also, I assume pre-season training must start in the next week or so, given the first friendly is just 15 days away.

All renewed season ticket holders will be named in the squad for the first friendly … should mean we’ll have a couple of subs, at least

Season ticket sales are 13% up on the same time last season. some folks back the club despite the uncertainty.

this is great news

Does the NDA’s on potential new owners only apply to the efl teams? Cos Everton have come out and disclosed theirr potential new buyers with a period of exclusivity. Or is this another case of one rule for the premier league and another for the rest of the country

It's an agreement a club comes to with the potential buyer. If the potential new owners want to make it public, that's up to them, and there wouldn't be an NDA.

EFL and PL rules are different in this area. EFL only allows parties to be named after they have passed their checks, I think after a few shysters got a load of publicity and strung everyone along like Kircher at Derby so EFL changed their rules.

I didn’t but I’d imagine it was in relation to only having 2 contracted players and potentially folding the team before the new season. It was reported a few days ago.

The post wasn't specific to the women's team....or at least that was how I read it.

Well the first team don’t have just 2 contracted players and all the other recent talk has been about the women having to drop right down the leagues.

And Charlie Eacourt has nothing to do with the men's team.

(other than often getting the gig to comment and co-present on the mens team matches, as is the Beebs current MO, she’s even got the (female footballer speciality) dropping her ‘T’s from every word……..well erm,,,,off to a ‘tee’)

Looks like Rifkind has set up a new Ltd Co. - ASF UK 1 Limited

https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/15794372/officers

Interestingly - alongside Rifkind there two other Directors, One Belgian, One German who , according to their Linkedin profiles ,

https://www.linkedin.com/in/daniel-faermark/
https://www.linkedin.com/in/vincent-vlad-thurow/

Are allegedly sports investors...

Make of that what you will..

Faermark was/is involved with 777 Partners so whilst beggars can't be choosers, I wouldn't feel massively comfortable having anyone connected to them owning us.

At the risk of upsetting the Waitrose residents of Reading, is that really a female footballer thing or just a reflection of where she comes from/was brought up? Reading dialect has been compared to that of West London and dropped 'T' s can be found there.

The way Reading sang Glen Little caused much amusement to my uni house dwellers of 7 young men, all living south of the Thames, spread across the south.

Dropping t's is a Berkshireish thing. But not constrained to Berkshire.

So it would appear the new interest in taking the club on do not wish to operate a women's team at all, so this sounds like a real good way to start a relationship - but then if the idiot is still refusing to play ball properly then cutting every "extraneous" expense possible might give them more "wriggle" room in dealing with him.

At least all wages and tax have been paid for June.

Not asking for names or any monetary specifics but some general information about what exactly is going on and where things stand between the parties would be helpful as the no news treatment just leads to spiralling negative rumours everywhere and this is the last thing you want at this time of year. Just something to help try and stop the spiralling negativity that we have at the moment.

By the way isn't NH suspended from football activities now?
