Winston Biscuit Games gone

Just so very very cr@p and not the way I want to see a game played. Really don't think pulling people up because they have one of their bootlaces or the width of their boot leather offside is at all the spirit of things, really do not care if it's technically correct it's just bollox.

Since 2000, Italy have failed to win a knockout match in 8 of 12 major tournaments. But in all 4 that they did win a knockout match, they reached the final, winning 2 of them - World Cup and Euro's

Slightly strange listening to the Spanish build up to the England game

Correspondent referring to England as the three lions twice in a report that couldn’t have been more than a minute
Even more strange was the fact that the ‘three lions’ words were said in English in a sentence in Spanish … not ‘tres leones’

And they seem ridiculously confident that England will win
More so than me at the moment

^This^ and the stupid handball rule (it accidently hits your fingernail) have ruined the game. Sucked all the joy out of it.

But how is that different to a linesman making a marginal call? Apart from it always being right?

For years we had the lines men doing it without tech and the lines being drawn to show if they were right or wrong and no one complained when they got one right by the tiniest whisker.

All this VAR is ruining football is just nonsense. OMG, they're correctly and accurately applying the laws of the game fairly quickly.

Are there some issues with the laws in edge cases? Yes, of course.

What really ruins the game is the players cheating constantly, showing no respect, and terrible, inconsistent officiating. And tedious possession based tatctivs where the objective is to bore everyone to death. And greedy corruptionthe game is riddled with, where there is no level playing field.

But it's a correct narrow offside and a harsh but correctly applied handball that's the final straw? Not the Champions of England being cheats on an astounding scale? Or most the other big European clubs. Not the Premier League impoverishing the Football league and putting ancient clubs in financial ruin? Not owners destroying clubs? Not players getting away with rape? Not a world cup built on slave labour and corruption?

A handball!?

This has been a party political rant by the Snowflake Party.

Agree with this, please introduce a law that stops endless sideways passing, esp in your own half. Or go down the rugby route, forward passes only.

This tournament really is showing that organisation, team work and effort is better than a bunch of starlets swanning around aimlessly.

How the **** is that a goal when there's a Spanish player stood several feet offside in front of the keeper?

Ignoring the closeness of the offside, for over 100 years the basic principle in handball decisions has been intent - handball had to be deliberate to be given (the difference between ball-to-hand and hand-to-ball).

That principle has now gone completely - it seems to be handball if you can't get your arm out of the way quickly enough, or if the ball brushes your hand or arm - which is quite ludicrous and completely against the spirit and history of the game.

Denmark can legitimately feel themselves very hard-done-by after those two decisions in such close proximity.

And yet despite the "organisation, team work and effort" the starlets still come up with a little bit of magic to break the hearts of those teams.

Because he wasn't in front of the keeper. HTH.

Haven't we known that since Greece won in 2004?

I thought Spain would win it before the tournament and I've seen nothing to suggest they won't since it started.

Yet to be tested really but they'll be very hard to stop.
