Its been like most international tournaments hasn't it?

A fun group stage with lots of quality, entertaining games - a 2nd round where the good games still outweigh the cagey ones but then you get to the QF stage and all the side are just desperate to progress, so entertainment levels drop off a bit.

Living in the country it is happening in has made it my favourite tournament of all time, it has been fantastic and I hope the finals in the UK in 4 years have the same feel that this tournament has had.

Having been out of the country for much of the tournament it has been a strange one for me but stranded sums it up well.

There has been some excitement provided by the hard working minnows who maybe play with more freedom as they know they won't win it whereas the big boys, apart from Spain, have been quite cautious with France in particular so far being almost as cautious as England.

The highlight for me so far has been watching the star of the tournament Yamal along with Williams on the left readily taking players on.

My son was over there for 3 of the games and he told us yesterday that Southgate has been getting pelters galore from the England fans (but not the players), something that we couldn't hear when watching Spanish coverage.

Let's hope it is not an England v France final but , with Carvajal (the best right-back in football IMHO and not the vastly over-rated Walker) suspended it could tip the balance in favour of France, who incidentally have probably the best left-back around who , along with Rabiot on the left, provides great support for Mbappe.

Stop your stalking and go and play with yourself junior......again and stop interrupting the grown-ups who want to post.
Teletubbies should be on TV soon.

Have you got a job yet apart from your paper round?

In a game where 99% or so of players are cheats?

You realise that makes him worse not better
If he’s in the top 5 when pretty much everyone is at it, he must be exceptionally ‘cheaty’

He is not officially in the top 5-that is just your view.
IMHO he is the top right back in a cheaty sport.

Glad the experience for you has been so good.

Dreadful matches from England, missing at least two Germany games and them going out has definitely hurt my enjoyment.

Would have been nice, but very unlikely, to see a hard working enthusiastic smaller nation, preferably not made up of nationalist nutjobs make a semi., but that's a big ask.

Germany have been great hosts - no doubt about that. Just the stuff on the field hasn't been the best but you can't win 'em all.

Football in general has become more boring IMO. Coached to within an inch of their lives to nullify the opposition, keep possession of the ball and not play risky passes that could come off just because the statistics men have shown the probability numbers of it working are too low.

Add to that the continual move closer to making it a non contact sport which has lead to the game being so stop-start and prevents any kind of rhythm, VAR being worse than AIDS, coaching individual flair out of the game, a total saturation of football matches as tournaments are expanded simply to satisfy the money men, and a saturation of televised games for the same reason, and the ease in which we can all see football from everywhere leading to a lack of football style being owned by a team or nation as they all just play the same now. Plus a bunch of other reasons.

Morning moan over!

Would agree, really don't want "perfect" errorless games with everyone playing the same sort of what is currently ******* tedious possession tactics or money flooding the game so that it isn't a game any more as everyone has to be a winner in some way

Much prefer the game from the 60s and 70s with more level leagues and none of the stupid over the top "looking after the big clubs" that you get in cup competitions like the CL. The European Cup was so much better when it was just the actual champions of each european nation playing straight knockout games and not a tedious money fest for all the big boys and various also rans to play loads of extra bloat and have a myriad of safety nets to progress in some way in case of an inept performance or two.

Love to see a Wimbledon rock up again and stick it to everyone.

Lineker was right the other night when he said no wonder the games are a bit of a chore as the majority of the players involved have just finished a full season of hard graft. On the plus side it does mean Luke Shaw can light the tournament up tomorrow
