Brogue I suspect Kane has been carrying an injury all tournament that we haven’t been told about.

WestYorksRoyal At least we lost to a team with an identity who wanted to win by playing good football. I think Southgate genuinely believes "sufferball" is the way to win; to be fair look at France and Portugal, plus Madrid in club football. And it has made him the 2nd most successful England manager ever, by any measure.
But Spain exposed its limitations tonight, as they did against France. Perhaps it's time for a manager who's plan is based upon making the most of our attacking talent.
But thank fcuk we didn't lose to France out "sufferballing" us.

They adapt to nullify the opponents. It's stupid to go to Man City and expect to attack, so they played the best way to beat whats in front of them. Comparing what Southgate does to Ancelotti and his pragmatic approach is misguided.

Think he's just getting older. He's also been playing in the Bundesliga which is pretty shite, a player of Kane's ability won't need to work nearly as hard as he did in the Premier League which probably meant he came into the tournament slightly undercooked.

Bellingham wasn't shit, just not very good.
Kane on the other hand....
I dunno, it seems a bit churlish right now to criticise Southgate but to me he is till too slow to make the changes.
Kane has been so clearly off the pace, and the change in momentum so marked when he went off, it is clear that he should not have started the final. It's not hindsight. Or rocket science. Clearly he likes a settled team and believes in only small tinkers, but it's always seemed to me that Southgate is just not quite brave enough to make those big calls.
Mainoo was clearly struggling out there. Palmer has looked adventurous and creative in all the games he has come on. The obvious chemistry he and Watkins showed in the semi, surely meant it was an obvious call to bring them on together.
Disappointing, but Southgate again showed that he just isn't quite up to winning a major tournament - everyone says he's a very strong man. In many respects I'm sure that's true - and it sounds a bit wishy washy, but maybe he's just a shade too nice.

Royal Rother The BBC pundits were all saying it (but not quite ACTUALLY saying it) - Southgate HAS to be replaced if we are going to get the best out of this bunch players.
I don’t think Potter or Howe will be good / strong enough.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - Postecoglu would be great.

Southgate admitted on interview that Kane has not been on it - he's struggled to get up to the fitness / sharpness we needed (WTTE anyway).
Then why keep playing him?
Aggghhh!
