The alleged victim in this civil case reported allegations of sexual abuse to the police in 2021, but no further action was taken due to legislation which stated that if an offence of "unlawful sexual intercourse" took place between 1956 and 2004, and the alleged victim was a girl aged 13 to 15, she had to make a complaint within a year. The legislation only applies to girls, not boys.

Seems reasonable to me. As long as due process happens, and he goes to trial if there's sufficient evidence, why should his name be reasoned now to a social-media frenzy?

I was asking a more general question than specifically about this incident as I’ve not seen or heard it, nor am I about to search for it

I'd agree that generally it is more xenophobic than racist but in this case it specifically targeted black players. I also presume it scanned better in Spanish. It was the usual birther bullshit about second generation immigrant players not being French.

"One doesn't analyze the stadium chants that much, it's more of a banter thing. Afterwards, it's understandable that people who have suffered from racism might not like it.

But I believe that if any of Enzo's teammates feel offended, the way to handle it is to call him directly, not to put it on social media.

I think there's malice in this, they're trying to put him in a place he doesn't belong. It's really strange, it's like kicking someone when they're down.
