'Fraid so. In terms of turnover the whole club is about one third the size it was 10 years ago (Champ, parachutes). We're in the third tier and broke now. Last few annual accounts for women's team suggest it was losing £1m-£1.5m pa. Crowds generally <500, no transfer fees out, not much TV income in ...

Brogue

Royals and Racers £12 in advance- £14 on the day -Parking was £5 in advance £10 on the day.

plus those given away free to kids...

So let’s say 300 people paying £14. £4200 per game in gate receipts. And that’s absolute maximum. Loads of kids paying far less people paying in advance etc etc I don’t need to do the math. The absolute maximum for gate receipts for for a home game is £4200. Most likely £2000. How many home games in a season? Come on . It’s just not sustainable. The correct business decision has been made:

Well if we're closing things down because they're not sustainable then they might as well close the entire club and most of the professional clubs in the country.

Looks like Slough Town FC could be the training and playing base in 2024/5 season.

On the "Matches" pages of the club website, the women's team have been removed. Not just for the coming season, but previous results as well.

Unusual for the club website  There is no women's team at the moment and don't think what's left has been accepted into any division yet either so nothing to report on, however the club website (as is more usual) is still promoting last year's women's season tickets!

Women's pyramid structure in England.

Constitution of teams in the WNFL div 1 South East (tier 4) teams 1 step above Reading Ladies (presumably the league Reading would aim to be promoted to):

Sudbury
Actonians
Chesham United
Cambridge United
QPR
London Bees
London Seaward
Ashford Town (Middx)
Norwich City
Dulwich Hamlet
Real Bedford
Chatham Town

Royals and Racers New article on the RFC website introducing the new head of RFC Women’s football Emma Hopkins.

Good there's been some sort of update regarding the women's team from the club, as I don't think they've said anything since the news of the demotion.

Positive the women's team will be operated by the Community Trust, as it will hopefully be a bit more stable that way and ensures the club will have a women's team of some sort going forward.

The League website is now set up for this season, including the new club name:
https://fulltime.thefa.com/index.html?league=479698
No fixtures showing yet apart from the County Cup. I read somewhere else that the FA Cup draw is this week.
