RG30
Sutekh Anyone able to transcribe Selles' Q&A session?

Ruben Neves* as per DJ Megaparty

Absolute clown that fella.

Confirmed Wing and Savage would be in the squad for tomorrow, plus a new player. Sellés came across well, nice sense of humour. Endearingly kept referring to Reading as a city. Sparks seems pretty switched on. Noel Hunt spoke well about the Academy, how much effort had been put into regaining Cat 1. Got the impression that Sellés thought only some of the Academy boys he's been working had the right mentality.

Amazons were great. Lead singer spoke with a lot of passion and sense about the club.

Do we actually have a third kit, and if so, why?

Yep, as posted above. We had the all-black third kit last year, pretty sure there was at least one game they wore it.

I think it will make its first appearance at Port Vale if they still play in white.

Yep this is why we have a 3rd strip - the grey may be considered two close to the white of Bolton, Vale, Derby so a 3rd kit would be needed.

Oh and to make money, mainly to make money.

Depends I think a lot of the kit changes can be dictated by clashes in socks more than the shirts themselves.

It's definitely a money thing! Until replica kits became a "thing" (late '80s?) most clubs wore plain red, blue, white or yellow for their away kits, but only when strictly required. Generally speaking, clubs would wear different shorts as a first option, such as Reading wearing blue shorts at Swindon in order to avoid a clash of shorts. Nowadays, away clubs only wear home kit if both their away kits are deemed to clash with the home side. Also worth remembering that the idea of three new kits every year is a much more recent thing. Did we not wear the same Kyocera kit in our first two seasons in the PL? And when we clinched promotion at Leicester, we used the previous season's white away shirt but adorned with that season's sponsor's logo.

During the Q&A did anyone ask why the event wasn’t open to non season ticket holders?

Would have been my first question.

Yeah, they said they didn't want people who called for female footballers to be murdered by drug cartels to be there.

After the huge success of last year's Pre-Season Social at the iconic Purple Turtle, we're delighted to confirm we will be doing it all over again as we prepare for the start of the 2024/25 campaign away to Birmingham City.

On Thursday 8th August, the renowned venue will open its doors to host Royals fans, staff, guests, and maybe a surprise or two along the way...!

See ya there!

Mid Sussex Royal The club's twitter feed said today tickets were still on sale, said nothing about having to be a STH.

On the ticketing website, it says:
Special guests and a very special surprise at an exclusive event being held in town on Thursday 8th August! Entry is for supporters aged over 18 only, doors will open at 7pm and the evening will run until last orders.

Tickets cost just £9 per Season Ticket holder. Sales are restricted to 1 per Season Ticket holder who is 18 and over. Tickets will need to be downloaded to your Google & Apple Wallet

Please ignore any reference to the Select Car Leasing Stadium during the sales process. The event is being held at: Purple Turtle, 9 Gun Street, Reading, RG2 2JR

I don't know how many tickets there are (total), so I don't know if the club will remove the restriction if they've not shifted them by Wednesday night.

A very special surprise?

Intriguing.

Mind you,the club once teased with news of us signing an established International player and it was Omar Daley.
