I had a quick peak on their match forum yesterday and nothing about us whatsoever which i can understand as there has been no love lost between the two clubs for years i guess. Just 18 pages of there fans in total meltdown regarding their current form and wanting their manager out

There were a few comments about how we look a decent team and a few on Bindon's clearance where his commitment and awareness impressed some but generally they're just pissed off about how they are sleepwalking and how clueless Matt Taylor is.

General consensus was that we won comfortably but they were bloody awful.

A lot has been made of the pressing game, but I didn't see much of it yesterday. Reading were far better at it than we were. In general they just seemed like a team who knew each other better

That's a bit harsh on Reading, I wouldn't say they were a "lump it forward" team, certainly not for the first hour, they played good football and moved the ball well.

They're not a bad side at all.

credit to Reading their press was excellent in the first half and they executed well what teams will need to do when they come away to us

This is quite funny though

Reading have an excellent first eleven, but because they've signed no one this summer, they've no strength in depth. By the the time the reverse fixture comes around, they only need to be missing three of those 11 and they're in the mire. In many ways they've peaked in their first game and still couldn't win it.

Firstly, we were missing 3 of our first choice 11 yesterday. Secondly, with the takeover apparently imminent, the likelihood of us not strengthening is small.

I hope they realise that the reported £14m they've spent this summer is more than the entire league has spent in the last 2 years.

The Blues lot are a pretty fair bunch on the whole and most of my Blues supporting mates were pretty complementary of us and reckoned we deserved to win. A lot of the comments from the locals as we walked back to the car after were similar.

Another official to add to the myriad of awfulness we've had down the years. Trouble is at this level it seems they're all struggling and the utter stupidity of idiot organisations like IFAB just makes it worse for them. Still it's better than the PL where last season the "safety net" of VAR just made things worse half the time.

There's so much pushing and shoving and so many players in such close proximity (often lined up along the goal-line and less than 10 yards from the ball) that it's a real nightmare. So they try to avoid giving them wherever possible because of the hassle they cause.

The referee was wrong not to give it, of course, but it's a bad law if it causes a situation where referees try not to award it.
