Stranded Given Couhig and the gang were there last night, I don't think we need to be concerned with anything collapsing, just yet at least. If by all accounts this is just awaiting an EFL seal of approval then we are in the "any time now" portion of the takeover.
If it is a case of waiting for EFL approval then a contract has likely been signed which states the club and assets will be exchanged for £x upon the EFL approval taking place, so neither side can pull out without there being legal repercussions as long as the EFL say yes.... but also wise not to announce anything until the sale is completed, just in case one side do try and pull out (think we can all guess which side that might be)

Orion1871 Just over a week for the EFL to hang on, so they can prevent us from making any signings until January.

Not ideal is it, but can still get free agents in.

Which is pretty much all we've been able to sign anyway.

Wonder what the position would be if all parties have signed the deal, all evidence of funding etc has been shared and accepted but the EFL delayed sign off until September - therefore stopping the accounts being signed off and us signing the few loanees we apparently have lined up.

If it is now solely awaiting approval by The EFL, why the hell can't the clowns pull their fingers out of their posteriors and get on with it, or at least state the day by which approval will be given/denied?

I still fear Dai has something to do with this and find it strange that Couhig would refer to The EFL as 'the other side', rather than 'The EFL' or 'the authorities'.

I reckon the EFL have approved it. This will all be down to Dai. As you say the EFL are not the other side of this business transaction.

It will take the Dai hatred to a whole new level if that`s possible if this falls through now, not that I expect it to mind.

Earnshaw now saying on Twitter that the EFL are fine with everything and he's assuming the hold up is final sign off, so that suggests the "other side" is Dai.

Good point.

I heard Dai increased the price to £100m up front, all gate receipts, TV revenue and player sales for 5 years plus Couhig's lunch money, and the deal is off.

Couhig was at the game last night taking photos with fans. Hardly the actions of a man who expecting the deal to fall through. People are such massive fanny’s.

Hotel snag hits potential rescue deal for beleaguered Reading FC
By:Matt Hughes

A dispute over the voco Reading hotel is further delaying a possible takeover of the club
The long-running takeover saga at Reading has been further delayed by a dispute over the status of an IGH hotel at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.

Former Wycombe owner Rob Couhig has agreed a £25m deal to buy the League One club that also includes the stadium and the training ground, thus ending the disastrous ownership of Chinese businessman Dai Yongge, but the voco Reading hotel is causing complications.

Very odd as I didn’t think Dai owned the hotel.

Doesn't the club own the property and just puts tenders out every so often to agree with a hotel chain/franchise for its operation?

Sasima runs the hotel IIRC. Anyone that has frequently goes in it will see the decline in quality since she took over.
